I have been getting "A program you are running is trying to close this window", and usually it happened here.
I don't remember completely but I think I got it solved. Last time I had to uninstall a couple of thinkgs my P2P program uses, but get this, I can't uninstall the program now because I have found that it is portable. It runs fine out of the old HD but it still seems to have stuck weathercast and save in there. I have now uninstalled both (note that I did not install anything) I am here to see if it happens again.
Right now it is a matter of time to see if the problem recurs. Of course I'll sit here, but that will be transparent to the reader.
After a few minutes I have realized what I did to the last OS, I went through the internet options like allowing frames across domains and all that kinda crap, and set it either to disallow or prompt. I did not do that yet this time. However the old OS did not have SP2, so I don't know if the same options are there.
It also redirected me when I tried to get in here the first time this morning. Right now I am wondering if it picked up my login info. Hard to say, did it access my cookie or not ?
OK, it has been long enough that I think the problem is fixed. We shall see. If the problem is truly fixed, I'll probably go and reset my password.
This was not really meant to be read, but if you did, any helpful hints would be welcome.
