I like this as it seems to be constitutional all right and...has precedent.

Yes, we could turn every terrorist into a marked man but how many others would be swept up in this ? Everybody suspicious at all in almost any way...would be vulnerable.

Hiring pirates to hunt other pirates? I think there is a saying involving Danegeld and Danes that relates to this idea.

Isn't this exactly what we did in Afghanistan and Iraq?

Paying bounties that ended up with a lot of innocents being falsely accused by people just after the money.

That's exactly what I was going to say. What the hell; I suppose the idea is just to keep on doing it until it works, eh? This is a perfect example of why, if I were a religious man, I would get down on my knees every day and thank god Ron Paul's presidential aspirations never made it out of the starting gate.

Or Panda, you could choose to go the secular route and just thank Ron Paul himself....after all he is the number 1 reason his aspirations never amount to much.

You're right, Mike. I've said before, there's a lot of value in Ron Paul, but in order to get the most value out of him you need to know when to stop listening to him. He's one of those people who have an absolute genius for pointing out that something doesn't work and identifying why it doesn't work, but has almost zero ability to design a plan to make it work better.

That description sounds like it could be applied to a number of posters here...myself at the head of the list...

I dont know if y'all heard- but some guy going to jail for pirating music in EU!!!

So ship pirates are comical- in that- "piracy" as you and I do it- is way comparable to the piracy of prior centuries.

I am almost routing for the pirates.  Who can blame them.  We wreck everything.  We ruin countries all over the world and spread freedom, and "democracy".

We the empire contaminated Somalies water supply on purpose.  We are busy in Africa as we dont want China to get its minerals and resources.

The too big to fail globalists need you to work harder to pay the bail outs.

I hate yahoo links as they don't direct tot he same thing two days in a row.

The cited link takes me to an article about the NCAA and one sports wonk saying another sports wonk should have been thrown off the team.

Pirates... the 17th century pirates started as privateers (could be considered reserve Navy of their day) that just kept on doing what they got good at after peace was achieved.

No they're not. Privateers attacked vessels of specific nations at war with the nation that gave them letters of marque authorising them to do so. The orders they received said nothing about pirates, who weren't regarded as part of any country's merchant navy, and offered less opportunities to claim booty from the attacks than merchant ships, as well as being harder targets.
