Hello my fellow recovering kinksters. I have been in contact with the woman who founded "Recovery in the Lifestyle" in South Florida. This is an offical AA 12-step group for anyone in the lifestyle who is in a 12-step recovery program. It was founded on the idea that we could benefit from having a meeting where we can openly discuss lifestyle issues and how we are working our program in this area of our lives.
I have been told me that if we do have enough interest to get a local meeting started and we follow the format that AA aproved for the Recovery in the Lifestyle group, they would support us and list us as one of their meetings on their website. It would keep the meeting legit since it is an official AA meeting and we would not have to go through the work of being approved by the home office. It wouldnt be much different than if your home group decided to add a second meeting on a different day of the week.
I would love to hear from people in the Atlanta area and get a feel for the amount of interest there is for starting a meeting.
Please check out recoveryinthelifestyle.com and share your thoughts with me soon!

FYI....since AA is an organization that survives on the donations of it's anonymous members.....the website ending in .com infers that it's a commercial enterprise and is for profit. .org would be the appropriate website.

In addition to what OsideGirl said, according to its own website, it is not affiliated with AA, it has simply adopted the twelve step program.  If it works for you, by all means stay with it.  If not, try an actual AA meeting.

Has there been a conclusive study on relapse in AA members and non? I seem to remember the rates being roughly the same in the last study I saw...

But I suppose if you're going to go through twelve steps, you might as well take them wearing leather chaps...

I joke, but seriously good luck if you really want to get clean.
