Okay, i am going to ask a really controversial question here.

What does the SD decision mean to you as a Gorean Man or slave? Do you think Your understanding of Gor has a an influence on what you think on these types of decisions? If so how, and if not, why not? Do you think these types of decisions should be goverment regulated or do you believe it should be decided among the individuals -- how does Gor help you shape this belief?

i am not trying to get into the abortion debate here, i am more trying to see how do you apply the gorean philosophies you believe in, to issues such as this one? Many people say they live Gor, then if so, can you actually explain how Gor shapes your views in issues such as this?

This question is as much to the slaves as it is to the Free. How does your slavery to a Gorean Man shape your view of issues such as this?

To me, my views are not shaped by Gor. My veiws were inherent to me before I came to this lifestyle and are still so afterwards.

And could you clarify what this "SD decision" references. I'm sure I'm not the only one that does not follow the news or TV if it is from either of those.

The South Dakota decision to ban abortion in almost all cases. They want to use this case as a springboard to over turn roe v wade in the surpreme court. Obviously, there will be a court challenge, supporters of the measure are counting on it. They would like nothing more than to see this end up in front of the surpreme court given the current conservative make-up of the justices.

Thank you chewsie. It's an interesting proposition but I don't see it affecting Gorean men much. I could be wrong though.

I would suggest that The Goreal Lifestyle and the Philosophies therein, change not the thinking but rather how things are dealt with. My views on abortion remain the same as they were all my adult life. Experience and education had just reinforced them, My "Goreanness" has added teeth. I will say that I am against any Government interfering with the right for people's choices in such matters and that such Governmebts should be removed if necessary with extreme predjudice. (Voting is one good way to do this).

I agree with Iron Bear on both points, but the relevant one is the question as to how being Gorean affects our thinking in such matters. What it does do is give us greater strength in our beliefs and our willingness to defend them.

For me... it has no affect I disagree with the decision for people in general... but myself unless the welfare of my girl was at stake I would not alow a abortion to her anyway

Ditto....

on a personal note:
I have raised slaves children that were not desired nor wanted.
I have taken Free Woman who had no desire to have anymore children to have abortions.
I have been present when fathers have been picked up and put in prision for not taking care
of children that they brought into this world with the concept and opinion that out of sight out of mind and responcibilities. I have been present when the mothers were picked up for the same thing for children not wanted.
I have seen thousands apon thousands of children who were born then thrown out into the streets
not being wanted and had to fend for themselfs or be put into a system governed by society and grow up in those same streets to become the problems of the world today.
I have known children born who were not wanted who became great people in Our generation.
I morn the children who will never see life but were created thru adults who for what ever reason
will not nor would not practice any form of safe sex or counterseption to stop having the need in the first place to have an abortion because of conveniance. Because I love children but not to the point that I would desire to see any born into a world where they were not wanted nor needed and would only be added to the list of children in the world who are abused, neglected, used or self raised up to not be a benifit to self nor society nor family or the world as a whole.
I beleive in the adults right to choices, even if they are deemed to not be the right choice or good choice or
I do not agree with such.
I beleive as I have been shown and as I have lived that any Gorean Free Woman and Man worth their weight have the strongest beliefs in Homestones, Home, Family, and Honor and will cultivate, moderate, and provide always in a way that such actions will not have to become a reality for anyone to have to live thru and find a nessisary action and then have to live with the end results thru out life. But there will always
be reasons and a need for such and there should be the remidy by these methods available for those who need and must make such choices for what ever reason.
Has being Gorean shaped My opinion of abortion? No but it has thru nutrition made Me aware of the extream responcibility that We have concerning the children around Us who for what ever reason become Our responcibility just by being present with in Our lifes for what ever reason. It takes a village to raise a child and as Goreans and with in the concepts of such take on such beliefs over what the majorities views are or societies in the saying, well their not MY KIDS or My problem or isent there a place the goverment put up for * them * JMO
good people make as many bad choices as do
bad people who make good choices. in the end
the only ones that suffer are the children. why
bring a child into the world to suffer at all if there
is no reason to? And this subject isent about
governments or religion or society or cost,
its about humanity. JMO
