I admit my convo with DRH kicked ass. I admit anyone finding the little clubs "absurd", must be missing a funny bone, and lacking a curious nature to the sillies here... I admit waking up breathing fine, then being stuffy 5 minutes later is annoying as fuck. I admit I had a huge craving for cheese earlier.

There were 7 people in the lab (4f 3m) and I was the one looked to as a leader by the other 5 so it was up to me to straighten it out. It's not a grudge, tj. It's a recollection. The mini topic was have any men been discriminated against only because of gender? I basically said. "yeah, once, and here's the particulars". Are people not supposed to talk about inequity based on how long ago it was or who was affected? I blame both people. Her husband (who didn't work there) and the boss's wife (who did work there) eventually found out after I left the company.

you don't really -- you say you do, but your emphasis is always on the woman who has the nerve to be fucking the boss. you put no emphasis on the boss who has the nerve to be fucking an employee. she's an adulteress, but he's an adulterer, too. putting primary blame on the woman for a situation like this is an age-old male tactic and a facet of male privilege. like i said, it's possible that losing privileges you don't even know you have could be misread as "discrimination." if the boss that you were sent to is the guy who's fucking around with employees, it's unlikely that it was discrimination so much as him having a grudge for you calling out his chick. =p p.s. Again, denying something ever happens doesn't mean it doesn't exist. If you wish to close your eyes to the fact that some people are manipulative and have no conscience, please feel free. I don't understand your use of 'male privelege' I was the chief analyst/quality control. The women and men in the lab asked me to do something. The reason I wasn't immediately told to clean out my desk is partially because they backed me. How is that a privelege? Sounds like undertaking a dirty job to help my friends/coworkers of both genders. Don't attack the messenger because you don't like the message.

Too late, you cry discrimination but you yourself have shown your own bias (even in this enlightened day and age). And 20 years ago is too long ago to be considered discrimination in the present day, imo. Imo its baggage that should have been discarded long ago... no, the privilege is in blaming the woman for what was equally the fault of both. it has nothing to do with your job. =p nobody's denying anything, just not seeing it as "it's all HER fault" like you are. (i also don't think you should be limited to "things of today" when discussing politics -- if you only look at "today," you end up with tunnel vision. the past informs the present, and the present creates the future. so 20 years isn't too long, at least i don't think so. but the problem is, you have unequal bias against the female wrongdoer, and the male wrongdoer is an afterthought to you -- you don't realise it.)

he had nothing to do with it, so why even mention the adultery? if you mention it, then both parties are on the hook, not just one. however you used it as a way to further demonize her, when talking about an issue that had nothing to do with it. =p
