I admit that I needed that snerk... my friend and colleague that is a 10yr bc survivor is having a cancerous tumour removed from her gut Thursday. Here's to hoping it's encapsulated!

111 Fahrenheit here (44 Celcius for my fellow Canadians).

I admit that the doctor wants to do another sleep study on me. All that does is mess up my hair and make me miss my nightly Runescape playing.

I admit that I am not a good girl today. I have to tell my niece that the middle finger was not a nice thing to do. I have to tell my brother not to do it around the kiddos now.

The time to stock up on meat products will be in the next few weeks/months. Farmers are selling off large numbers of cattle because they will not be able to feed them. The same thing will happen to hogs. Poultry perhaps less so as they have such a short turn around time. I've read that the meat prices may even drop temporarily due to the selling, but next year for certain, it will be much higher.

Anything with any bit of corn or soy in it will increase in price. Most people haven't a clue how far reaching those two grains actually are.

Oh, home canned meats are like the fucking bomb.   Reminds me of grama.  She never used anything but paraffin to seal them.  Pork sausages packed in lard, wipe em, and fry em and ooooh-la-la.

I need to try canning meat one of these days, have never done it. Love it though. And I will have a lot of empty jars since there is no fruit in the orchard for the second year.
