I admit I'm back home after six nights in the hospital.

I admit I'm excited about sleeping in my own bed.

Dare I ask what you did that you shouldn't have, to damage the knee?
The Man apparently scratched his cornea and has bitched for a week straight about having to sit with it closed while it healed.

Quite simple answer.

My son to be ex brother in law (would much prefer if I could use the term 'late brother in law') had a dog on his truck that was basically eating the interior of his semi.

He decided that my sister should keep the dog, and by extension since my sister and I are buying this house in partnership, I was also saddled with this dog.

The dog ate and destroyed two metal framed couches and an recliner, not to mention inflicted 37 staples worth of wounds on my sister when the dog went after my dog at the same moment she went to pick up her shoe.

Her arm was in the wrong place and said dog got it instead of my dog. Brother in law got rid of the dog.

So, I was moving the destroyed furniture to an area where it could be burned to leave the metal which I planned to haul off to the scrap yard (even though brother in law kept insisting he would get rid of it.

He hasnt in the year and a half since he decided that since my sister would not allow him to indulge in his overly sadistic desires using her as the subject to put another woman on the truck with him. (hence the reason I would prefer that the term 'late brother in law' applied.)

So, basically, in the process of moving two couches that took four people to get out of the house by myself, I managed to injure the bad knee.

I don't think he's based on a red tailed hawk though, the rest of the coloring is wrong.

But is there anyone anywhere who doesn't love Foghorn Leghorn being cut down to size by a fledgling hawk? If so, I don't want to meet them.

I never knew this, but he's named Henery Hawk.

Very true. If he's that shade of brown he's more likely some sort of kite than a hawk, isn't he?
I didn't know the little guy even had a name, to be honest.

Everyone and everything has a name.........

However, after careful examination of the little guy's picture there is one thing that is clear....

His wingspan is much to short to allow for flight.

Just saying.

Perhaps he's part bumblebee? They're not supposed to be able to fly either.

I don't think he's ever seen flying in the cartoons, just physically dragging or carrying off Foghorn or his hens. It's a long while since I've saeen any of those, though, so I could be misremembering.

I have a vague recollection of him hovering a little off the ground trying to drag Foghorn's fat ass off.

I admit I am remembering my arrival in LA on the night the riots started and seeing the fires burning in south central LA from the window seat of the plane I was on and thinking I was back in army green and flying into a warzone.
I admit that nothing really has changed much in 25 years.
I admit a civil war is coming.

I'm depressed as hell that on Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day, the Holocaust deniers are out in full force.

I admit that if it weren't for my K, I would be living in a tent with my dog. I admit she isn't physically capable for the gypsy lifestyle.

I admit that so much has changed in the last few months, my flight response has me itching to run away.

I admit I feel overwhelmed.

I heard they share office space with the climate change deniers and flat earth movement.

I admit all I can offer is a cyber hug.

I admit that I know well what being overwhelmed can feel like, and what it can feel like to be helpless to offer more than a hug to someone in distress. And I admit that the older I become, the more I realize the tragic dimension of life.

Fair enough. My mistake, then.

I admit to sending good thoughts and energy to all that need them.

On a side note:
I admit that I am considering a gofundme campaign to purchase a lovely lady that has recently come on the market, the 86 (low) foot two masted schooner Rachel A has come on the market, asking price $4.6 million.

Keel laid down in 1910 wood over steel frame, fresh from a recent complete overhaul with a modern diesel and 400kwh genset (which is probably messing with her disposition, older ladies dont like the modern bells and whistles) 130 gallon a day watermaker, and fresh kevlar sails, and rigged for a short crew (6 could handle her easily.)

And no, if I were able to buy the lady in question, I would not move her to west Texas, but head her bow toward French Polynesia and tell the rest of the world to get stuffed!

You think Kera could get her sea legs? If not, I'd volunteer to spoil her rotten, I mean take her in.

Kera is already spoiled rotten, and she probably could, I mean she bounces around a moving truck (front seat to back seat to front seat to back seat to head out driver's side window to wanting to sit in driver's lap.)

However, given her opinionated nature, I feel that there may be arguments concerning destination, proper sails aloft in squals, maybe even a possible canine lead mutiny or MUTTiny.
