i am English and note that as such i am in a minority group as most regular posters here on the Gorean forum are from the United States.  If i do a search under Male Doms in the U.K that include reference to Gor or Goreans here on Collarme, my results show me there are a few but very little Goreans on here from the U.K in comparison to the U.S.   Now, in theory this would make sense as its pretty obvious the population of the U.S is far far far greater than that of the U.K... so of course there will be far more U.S Goreans than U.K ones.

But what i am wondering... and i dont know if anyone has or can ever have any sort of answer to this but, number of Goreans in the U.S compared to overall population of the U.S and number of Goreans in the U.K compared to overall population of the U.K = impossible to say i know... however, does anyone have any intelligent answer as to is the Gorean lifestyle generally much more popular in the U.S in the U.K?.  i suspect the answer in yes and as John Norman was born in the U.S this too would tie in to this assumption.

the reason i ask is that i, even with the world wide web at my finger tips... find it very hard to establish how big the Gorean lifestyle is here in the U.K.... and not knowing anyone personally does not help me with finding answers.  Has any Goreans here from the U.S lived / spent alot of time / or had much contact with Goreans in the U.K?.... and therefore better able to give some sort of idea as to what Gor in the U.K is actually like?

Thank you and best wishes

Greetings serisa,

I personally think that you are MISSING 1 major profound factor in your finger typing search. You are looking at specific thoughts about volume and totals and not about the individual numbers as they are more realisitic for the whole picture.

For instance you might see that there are 15,000 people following the Gor beliefs in the UK.....this is just an example.....they might follow the Gor beliefs BUT how many do trully follow them. I mean do these people follow them just over the weekend or do they follow them over the net and say they follow the beliefs. Like how Malkinius breaks down the figures you also have to break down the figures of people that follow the beliefs in their hearts. Out of the 15,000 people it might be broken further to find out that only 5,000 follow the Gor beliefs through the 7 days of the week. Out of the 5,000 people it goes down to only about 500 that can honestly say that they embrace abd folow the beliefs and philos of the books to the best of their intentions within social boundaries and moral boundaries enforced by earth law.

You might look at the percentages of people out in the UK against the USA for Gor, but you then miss the point about the people that have the passion and follow the beliefs and philos of Gor, and those percentages of people are far more quiet in their surroundings to a certain point of view.

Be well.

Frank Ar.

Hello
don't usually look at the boards but there I think there is more than one English Gorean.
Also an interesting thought here how do you term a Gorean personally I prefer following thge philosophy.
Also good to see Asmodeus, one person I agree with on most things.
