I'll have to go with what many others have said on this thread so far... yes, age is only a number, but as I am younger, I am looking for a younger Dom as well. I want a LTR, and it seems much more feasible with someone who is no more than 10-15 years my senior vs. someone who is my father's age.

There is an old Italian saying that roughtly translated is "An old chicken makes a good soup"....I have had
some of my best scenes and learned so much from older woman.  I'm no spring chicken myself but it's
"quality - passion- intelligence- understanding it's more control than sex that stimulates a subbie, and on and on,..
None of these a monopoly of the young.

Age,ole to be 18 again smile,I am 60 this augest 1st with a few physical problem from the miltary and hard living,IE an ankle that needs repaired and a knee problem...This doesn't keep me from doing the things I enjoy,I am fit and still a very sexual controlling Master..All the women in my life over the past 20 years or so have been much younger, while I have nothing against older women they just aren't my cup of tea..I can understand why a young slave with visions of the 4.5 children a little cottage with the white picket fence wants someone to grow old with,I have no problem with this...I just keep thinking the thought live for this moment for thats all we are promised..bounty

I do agree that we should live in the here and now, as you are correct - we are never promised another day.  But as far as the 4.5 ums and the white picket fence - I don't know about other subs, but I'd have to disagree.  I have very little desire to get married, and zero desire to have children.  But I do want someone to grow old with. I want the possibility of staying with the same person for my lifetime, enjoying all there is to see in do in this world with them. In setting the limitations on age, I'm trying to maximize the potential of our relationship. I understand that there is no guaranteed future with anyone, regardless of their age, but the chances are much greater that I could lose my partner if they are much older than me. I guess I'm selfish, but I just can't bear the thought of losing someone so close to me and then having to start all over.

I see your point and its taken to heart..Society as a whole frowns on the Dec-may relationships, To lose a life mate at any age is debilitating but life goes on..

I am in my forties, so I usually do not consider women older than I am.  But Lady B and Maitresse Alexandra are two women who must be fiftyish who could enslave me any time.

This goes both ways of course.

Some of us may rule out a sub as being 'too young'

As someone that 'usually' is not attracted to very young women that's a hurdle for me.

But in this like all things in this 'hobby' of ours, really there's no right answer. Let people make up their own minds and what they are willing to do.

the oldest one i talked to seriously was 65, the youngest was 36. Master is 45. For me age doesn't matter it's how we connect. If he's not a match personality wise then we're not going to connect regardless of age. You'll find her you just have to be patient

So it's an old thread..but apparently still a relevant question to a lot of people.

I'm 37. Before I met Master I only dated men 5 years my junior or senior, give or take a couple years in either direction.

I've just found from past experiences that anything under or over, we have very little in common and it becomes difficult to really relate to each other or communicate.

In no way do i think 54 is too old.  i am 51 right now and, were i looking, my range would be approximately 30 to 70 yrs old, and exceptions can always be made depending on the Individual Person.  ~smiles~

it all about the MIND..not age...body..techniques...etc..
Last year I had 2 play partners...one was 73 and one was 26..each had wonderful unique and beautiful QUALITIES about them..I rarely look at age and at times have forgotten as we chat...becuz I am getting to KNOW the person..thier STYLE...our commonalities etc...I look for intelligence..experiance...etc
.....if you are being told you are too old it is simply thier preference..and their are as many that do not think of age...
ALSO...as you talk to the person if the age thing comes up may I suggest...engaging in a bit further discussion such as...why talk of age...I have much to offer?BDsM to be is about connecting not age...
let me tell you what I have that age has given me,,

as well when I read a message  "hope I am not too old for you" I already know HE has an issue with it..

LOVE k

I'm sorry for the loss of your sub.
In general, for a partner, I'd top out my age range preference in the middle 40's (I am 34) but if I grew to love and was powerfully attracted to someone older than that and they could keep up with me, I'd have to deal with expanding my age range.
Best wishes in finding that which you seek,

FR

Questions like this seem so common, it always makes me think that we look for relationships like we would look for an employee, How much exerience do they have, How old are they, How do they define themselves, right well now they have fit my critera then everything is ok. Life isnt like that though is it. Age in itself isnt an issue, its the things that come with it, do you get on with them, are they on your wave length, do you find them attractive. The fact that they have had 20 or 40 or 50 birthdays means very little really.

I feel like I’m throwing cold water on a hot topic, but here goes!  Choosing someone closer to your own age may increase the chances of ‘growing old together’ but it is no guarantee.
If I have a chance to be with someone who makes me extremely happy and that feeling is reciprocated, I hope that I would not allow his age (or mine) to keep us apart.
I highly recommend the short story, A Story About Love by Ray Bradbury.

If I was searching, I would probably be looking within 4-5 years younger and
10-12 years older than I am. But happily, I am in a wonderful relationship at this time.

I am 38 and my former Sir claims to be 56 but he is older, at least in the 60s.  I never found out for sure.  I also have a playmate who is at least 69, but  he was 69 when i met him 2 yrs ago. I dont know how old I would go because I never thought  would go that old. If you really interested, I say go ahead and approach them.  What is the worst that could happen--they say "no". No biggie.    Ageism exist but it does not mean that you cannot change that.  Good luck to you.
