As a group, or as individuals, we seem a group that might enjoy a good beer....sadly, at the moment there are no good breweries up for sale, but.....PBR is, and they are attempting crowdsourcing the purchase... http://www.buyabeercompany.com/ and no, other than pledging a little to it, I am not involved in the operation in any way. I'm confused, does pledging mean you own shares in the company or is it just donating to someone else so they can buy it?

Greetings Dinnardin, It does sound like a cool idea although it might get a bit messy if it turns out all these people own a piece of the company. I can't imagine what it would be like to try to make major decisions. I wish you well, Zeph

PBR is a major brand for 21-35 yo hipsters. Its cheap and to drink it has become some kind of faux-working class badge of honor. Seriously, it would be a good investment. PBR is to the 10s what "retro cocktails" were to the 90s. Mark my words. Big trend. We have parties at my loft where we were sell PBR and MGD cans for a buck. PBR sells out way before MGD despite the fact that MGD is a better tasing (slightly) beer. PBR just has that ironic/hip-look-at-me-I'm-white-trash-but-i-go-to-UIC vibe.

Tal All, PBR, never much cared for it. The only beer I drink that comes from within the USA is Yuengling and that is made from America's oldest brewery. Other fine beers I enjoy are Red Stripe a Jamaican Lager and when I can get my hands on it, Westvleteren 12. Rare, delicious and expensive. I wish you well, Scott

No doubt PBR is crap-tastic. I still think its a good investment. And American beer is nothing to sneeze at! There are great small breweries all across the US. Three Floyds, out of Munster Indiana, is doing some yummy stuff (gum ball head) and I will always love Sierra Nevada. But sometimes you just need a cheap case of beer. Na'w mean?

I wish you well, Scott Tal, I like a man with a good taste in beer! If you can get hold of it, you should too try out Rochefort (Trappist beer out of Belgium). Their 8's are one of my all time favorites. Had Yuenlinger last time I was in the US and will be what I drink next time I go back, that is if the area I'm in have outlets/supports it. Red Stripe is a very good lager, and one I have enjoyed drinking for years. Leffe Bruin is another good Belgian beer to enjoy. I got a lot more brands I could post for the interested connoisseur, but will just derail the thread if it goes in that direction. I wish you well, Camerius

I am lucky to have near me a bar, The Sharp Edge, which is considered by national experts in the field to be the best Belgian Beer bar in the US, as well as several world class brewpubs (see www.churchbrew.com as an example)...however, none of them is for sale with such an interesting program. You are one lucky son of a gun. My main goals in life is to get my own business in the lines of a bar& steakhouse or just a bar (depending zone regulations, health inspection rules, liquor licensing and fire department as well as police regulations). I got it all set and lined out with my brand, business name, interior choice and so on, the only thing I'm missing from moving on is the starting funds. The idea I have is both sustainable, income secure, profitable and most of all, will provide jobs. I will however make it happen, it just won't be now. I wish you well, Camerius
