Wheeeee.... can't sleep.  I'm a lousy patient, I make a better caretaker. 

Ok, I am going to try something.  I would love to hear from free and slave alike, owned and unowned.  I say this forum is a wonderful place for people to share and learn from experience, so I am going to try and get the ball rolling.

To the girls:
When serving and you come across a man or woman that physically makes your skin crawl...how do you deal with it?   We are talking rotting teeth, possibly bad hygiene, or he just looks like your long lost dead uncle...whatever the reason, do you recoil in horror and refuse to try and be pleasing?   How good are you and screwing on the smiling, adoring kajira face to any and all free?    *Please note, I am talking about face to face, not online.
 
Are you permitted, if owned to show disgust or distaste?    What if there are unowned girls in the midst?  Are they held to the same standards?  If no owner is present, who then do they answer to?  This could be the owners as well, but I was wondering if there was a slave appointed to the task?

To the owners:
What are your instructions to your property when serving in a group setting?  What is expected, not tolerated or demanded without fail?  If one of your friends has a bad tooth and the smell is about to kill the cat...do you insist your girl(s) serve with the same fire and grace...or are they allowed a "time out"?

I thought, in light of all the negative posting as of late, it would be good to possibly turn a corner and start to actually discuss how honest to goodness kajira react and behave among others.   In this manner, it could be a learning tool, a way for everyone to read how things are done among goreans, offline.   I don't anticipate everyone will have the same rules for their girls, but I'm hazarding a guess it will be pretty close.    A way for those more experienced in offline serving to share with those who are a little more limited perhaps.

I ask only that if negative comments need to be said, take it private.

I would indeed serve any Free Person at a gathering. My sincerest worry is that I have a weak stomach, and i'm actually afraid i'd gag or something if the Free Person smelled really bad. That would embarrass me deeply.

Just wondering why slaves would be at the gathering in the first place? I have met fellow Goreans where we had NO slaves present at all, just us free and had a wonderful time together. We managed just fine without, had a blast and really got to enjoy each others company during that time.

My experience is that when you start dragging slaves/owned property into a gathering equation, the possibility for unwanted drama and "hurt" feeling of not being the center of attention escalates proportionally with the number of collars present.

With that being said, one or two slaves "could" be handy for the tasks and chores that the free women can't cover. As to the personal serving, I'll let that be up to the owners to dictate. Personally, I don't fuck anyones slave at a gathering, and yeah, I have been offered it. Getting me drinks and food or snacks, fine, doing my laundry, making my bed and so on, fine, having her use her wits and intelligence to entertain me (if I want it so), fine but that's it for me when it comes to use of a slave.

Why? Because I'm not there to fuck slaves, I'm there to met, talk and spend time with fellow Goreans. 

Just something worth taking into consideration when we talk about gatherings and slaves.

I hate the no sleep thing!

Just to answer your question--out here, we don't have people for a "gathering," but like Camerius said, when we do, it's the men, and the girls are left home.

I can't imagine a girl being in a position to serve such a person in my home or anywhere I'd likely go. If she were told to serve, though, she'd damn well better. But this is hypothetical.

When Master hosts his gathering, or has friends and family in his home throughout the year, I serve in a domestic capacity. This means that most of my time is spend in the kitchen, preparing for or cleaning up after meals. Other than that, there is general cleaning to be done, beds to be made, and the random errands to be run. My direct personal service to Master's guests is usually limited to fetching them food or drinks, or anything else they may require.
In such a capacity, the guest's personal appearance of hygiene would be of as little importance to me as the appearance of a patron visiting a truck stop diner would be to the waitress there. She would -hopefully- try to please each of her costumers the same, just as I would try to please each of Master's guests the same.

When it comes to a more intimate service, the same thing applies.
While Master could of course offer my sexual services to any man he chose, he commented that he'll be about as likely to loan me to another man, as he would be loaning out his toothbrush. As such, the situation hasn't arose yet. In the event that it did, I would be a pleasing I possible could be, knowing that if I failed to please perfectly, either to Master's standards, or to the standards of his guest, I would be whipped. The guest's physical appearance would be of no importance to me personal, nor would have any impact on the level Master would expect my service to be at; on the other hand, Master himself would probably consider the guest's personal hygiene before he would loan out his “toothbrush”.

To the men, no, there doesn't have to be slaves :)    This was an excersise, mainly to (hopefully) show two things to those less experienced with offline meetings.  
1)  That not all serving is sexual, it can be nothing more then cooking or bringing a soda.
2)  That if a slave was in attendence, she would do her best to please all free, regardless of personal feelings.

To ishy, thank you!   My examples were "out there", but you got the meaning and responded beautifully.

There is nothing special about a Gorean gathering, than there is say of any group of friends getting together. Same things is and will go on in eating, drinking, telling of stories/jokes/experiences while enjoying each others company.

On the other hand, come to think of it, why should there be?

Exactly.   My thoughts were to openly discuss "gatherings", which could be at a fine eating establishment, theatre or just hanging out on a Sunday with buddies.  

I brought up the slaves, as another side note, their behavior and what is expected.  Mainly, to showcase how things happen, for those who have never had the experience :).

Thanks for the laugh :)    I admit my examples were um, colorful, but I wanted to really hit home that unpleasant stuff happens and hear the replies.   (I'm actually reading the other thread about slaves and girlie stuff, and seeing lots of wonderful stuff about dealing with every day living.  This is good!  For anyone thinking its all about living in a fantasy world, this is how I was meaning the forum could be used as that learning tool!)

I've only served in domestic capacities as my Master chooses not to share me physically. There's only been a time or two that comes to mind that I felt a little ickied out. One still serves with a smile, upbeat personality and respectful manner.  If a man just lacks what most consider handsomeness and so forth, I couldn't not want to serve him based on what the good lord gave him. If he intentionally chose not to bathe and take care of himself it would be the only situation that would make this one think icky, but wouldn't voice it.

One would be permitted to tell her Master of disgust or distaste, but not show it.

My Master belongs to a mens only brotherhood. No females are allowed at all. They meet a few times a year for a large gathering to eat, drink and mingle. He prefers that. There are smaller gatherings, too. He generally attends the larger.

If you use the brain and a healthy dose of common sense, much of it can be prevented BEFORE that happens. After which, what is left can be quite pleasant and enjoying.

Don't want drama? Don't bring any slaves.
Don't want any strangers? Don't invite anyone that you or some other friend can't/won't vouch for.
Don't want your home to get damaged? Hold it a public place.
Don't want the police around? Keep it low key and don't allow any illegal actions (nudity, public drinking and so on).

I'm sure people can add a lot more to this list if they, themselves, were about to hold a everyday party and was planning to invite friends and relatives to come along.

After all, the center of it (most of the time) is to gather and share the good times.
