There's an article about him here (kinda long):

Pretty interesting, I didn't realize those techniques were more common:

"Those methods took root on college campuses in the latter half of George W. Bush’s presidency, fostered by a group of men and women in their late teens and early 20s with a taste for showmanship and a shared sense of political alienation — a sort of political reverse image of the left-wing Yippies of the 1960s. They studied leftist activism of years past as their prototype, looking to the tactics of Saul Alinsky, the Chicago community organizer who laid the framework for grass-roots activism in the ’60s, and of gay rights groups and even Communist organizations.

They held “affirmative action” bake sales with prices set based on the age and race of the buyer, posed as donors to Planned Parenthood seeking to contribute to the abortion of African-American fetuses only, and held a mock “Love Thy Prisoner” campaign to find American homes for Guantánamo inmates."

Sanity -> RE: ACORN pimp gets busted! (1/30/2010 3:17:43 PM)

Actually they are. Their planned parenthood charade was designed to draw attention to the fact that Black babies are "aborted" in disproportionately higher numbers than White babies, and that the Left's love for abortions has distinct Nazi-ish overtones.

Their “affirmative action” bake sales were meant to draw attention to the inherant racism caused by “affirmative action” itself.

And so on.

We should make live birth illegal.

Lucylastic -> RE: ACORN pimp gets busted! (1/30/2010 4:38:47 PM)

I m tending to think of him as a wanna be michael moore....
of course... everything he has done so far...is questionable, and not journalistic, because he is politically motivated. Breitbart must be shitting bricks wondering how hes gonna weasel out of this. Damage control willl work and the scrawny little runt wont do jail time. his party will take care of that and he is already a hero to the reps here. Pitiful pitiful and laughable at the same time.

tazzygirl -> RE: ACORN pimp gets busted! (1/30/2010 5:01:12 PM)

lol... anyone else.. especially with democratic ties.. who tried this with a republican senator would have been strung up to hang. This is such a joke! He enters a senators office, plays around with phone lines, admits he had intentions of interrupting the service there to "prove" there was nothing tying them up, and he got caught...

yes, lets pat him on the head, smile and whisper.. now be a good boy, k?

but... just out of curiosity...isnt one of the fellas with him is the son of a US district attorney?

According to the affidavit by Steven Rayes of the FBI...

http://www.politico.com/static/PPM145_new_012610.html

They were in violation of the US Code, Title 18, section 1036, 1362 and 2

1036

(2) any vessel or aircraft belonging in whole or in part to, or leased by, the United States;
(3) any secure or restricted area of any seaport, designated as secure in an approved security plan, as required under section 70103 of title 46, United States Code, and the rules and regulations promulgated under that section; or
(4) any secure area of any airport,
shall be punished as provided in subsection (b) of this section.
(b) The punishment for an offense under subsection (a) of this section is—
(1) a fine under this title or imprisonment for not more than 10 years, or both, if the offense is committed with the intent to commit a felony; or
(2) a fine under this title or imprisonment for not more than 6 months, or both, in any other case.
(c) As used in this section—
(1) the term “secure area” means an area access to which is restricted by the airport authority, captain of the seaport, or a public agency; and

1362

§ 1362. Communication lines, stations or systems
How Current is This? Whoever willfully or maliciously injures or destroys any of the works, property, or material of any radio, telegraph, telephone or cable, line, station, or system, or other means of communication, operated or controlled by the United States, or used or intended to be used for military or civil defense functions of the United States, whether constructed or in process of construction, or willfully or maliciously interferes in any way with the working or use of any such line, or system, or willfully or maliciously obstructs, hinders, or delays the transmission of any communication over any such line, or system, or attempts or conspires to do such an act, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both.
In the case of any works, property, or material, not operated or controlled by the United States, this section shall not apply to any lawful strike activity, or other lawful concerted activities for the purposes of collective bargaining or other mutual aid and protection which do not injure or destroy any line or system used or intended to be used for the military or civil defense functions of the United States.

Section 2

Under criminal law, a principal is any actor who is primarily responsible for a criminal offense.[1] Such an actor is distinguished from others who may also be subject to criminal liability as accomplices, accessories or conspirators.

Taking into consideration that these are not stupid men, that they are all in college, with what has been described as exceptional intelligence, this was a very stupid move. And, even if they do get off, can anyone truly say they have not broken the federal laws here with their admitted actions?

ACORN was one of the few groups that stood up for those with the least of political voices. Because they were successful in mobilizing the poor to vote and have a collective voice they have been demonized and targeted.

And that, of course, is ACORN's biggest crime, if you were to strap one of these conservatives down and give them truth serum. They were helping poor people and African Americans, two groups who tend to vote Democratic. Their faux outrage over ACORN's giving advice to prostitutes was hilariously transparent, given that Republicans probably disproportionately keep that industry afloat.

They probably would if you had offered one.

All you did was merely make a statement.

David Vitter alone constitutes a stimulus fund for call girls.

Actually, I scorned the liberals in the 1970's for behaving exactly this way, falling in love with street theater and "protests " that were mostly just self-righteous preening stunts.

While I would chuckle at the notion of this pretty young kid spending time with some hard cases at Angola Penitentiary, I also will be the first to say this is a minor kerfuffle, a stupid stunt that doesn't tell us any more about the issues than a Greenpeace protestor unfurling a banner across a government building.

As I said before, I respond in the manner that Im addressed. The incivility in this board predates my participation, and was thrown at me long before I responded in kind. If someone doesnt like the tone I respond in they need to learn some civility themselves first.
