No I didn't do a web search first since I figure there is a wealth of experience right here. Are the Gor books the same ones serialized in Heavy Metal back in the late 70's early 80's? Tarnsman of Gor sounds so familiar to me, I think I read it and then loned my copy to some friends who ran wild with it and never gave it back. I think I was 16 or 17. I don't think there were more than one or two out when I read Tarnsman of Gor, if it's the same thing I am thinking about.

No offense meant by this next statement at all, but I would have never believed that those books would develop into a lifestyle. Mostly because up until very recently I would have never immagined there were women who would want to participate. At most the story was just a fantasy. Then.

Tal Stern,

I am not sure if those are the same it was before my time in a manner of speaking. However, I do remember there being a possible Gor Magazine back in 1998 by a company called Vision Entertainment. It was slated to be similar in production to Heavy Metal. It fell through in the end, Canada doesn't allow any "bondage" type materials across the border but also the magazines aside from subscription would have to be put on the same rack as Hustler, Playboy, choose your poison.

Someone will be able to answer your question I think.

I wish you well,
Scott

Correct me if I am wrong but that is more of a statement than a question. If it is a question I am missing it, can you reword it.

Sure.

Were any of the first Gor books serialized in Heavy Metal back in the late 70's early 80's?

But no need to answer, as it doesn't really matter now. I had forgotton that I had even read Tarnsman of Gor (I was reading the John Carter of Mars series also at the time) but I remember I liked it. So I am going to read it again.

I honestly don't think John is the Heavy Metal type, not from what I have heard of him any way.
