It's not like they're the Richard Allen stuff where used copies are rarer than rocking horse shit, no. I suppose that's the downside of the books doing so well in the '60s and '70s.
The fact that it's a cinch to find second hand copies of the books might have something to do with the fact that Norman's having to self publish the new impressions. I find that a slightly more credible suggestion than him being hounded out of print by a feminist conspiracy, put it that way.

"where used copies are rarer than rocking horse"

I think he is talking about the availability of used books even though the cause addresses the blaklisted thread topic.

Greetings Master Dinnardin

Nearly all of ours were purchased from Ebay. Most are first editions DAW but a handful are a later printing. None are the newly printed versions as of yet. Some we purchased for less than 5 dollars, a few others were 50+ at the time. It was in 2003 when they were just terribly hard to find. At least for us they were. A few more copies (duplicates) were purchased from second hand stores of less popular titles. Also still have original extra copies of Slave Girl and Beasts which are still bubble wrapped from the previous seller. I believe we're missing one title in our paperback library and that would be Magicians.

Witness was purchased pre press in Hardback.

We do have a "New for 1979" Daw Explorers that was supposedly signed by John Norman. The book has not been authenticated as his actual signature. Might check up on that eventually. I can say this much... the signature isn't signed in cursive writing...

My Master also has his E read version for his Iphone. The last 3 books were not included.

Warmest wishes,
~twinkle

Very true, I just seldom buy from Amazon (despite some great prices) because I don't like to pay for shipping and I like to hold books in my hands and flip through them a bit when I'm buying them.  It will probably come down to Amazon.com for this series, but I will probably wait til I read a few more and know for sure that I want to own them.

I first read the books because I dug them out of boxes of sci fi in the attic while hunting for more reading material as a kid (I was... am... a voracious reader).

My personal copies which I have as an adult I have purchased either through used book stores, or more often, through Amazon, et. al.

Greetings

I have gotten most of my books used from online auctions like ebay and the sort and found some in used book stores.

I wish you well
