Aileen, I explained in an earlier post that I was in a long term live in relationship with a guy who did scene work but was not into anything within our four walls. The reason I had no hope of anything BDSMy at home is because of the sort of relationship I was in.

Domiguy, Im not sure what you mean by the community? are you talking the real life stuff or the online stuff or both? I know plenty of people that are full on into this all the time but I also know plenty of people that come out and have a bit of fun once a month but are far too busy doing other things to spend more time on it than that.
This is a bit like sticking a label on a parcel and not knowing whats inside. Its all guess work. The only thing that defines a community is a group of people finding themselves in the same place, at same time with a common (but broad) interest.
The on liners that use CM boards or any other BDSM site boards are a tiny portion of the whole online scene, in fact this is such a small number of people that it can't be considered representative of anything and therefore all we can do is discuss differing opinions.
My opinion differs from yours.

Right now I am lounging in my black leather onesie as I read aloud from the novel "The Fat Slaves of Gor." I am practicing shibari on my fridge. Bummer can't get to my beer.

I have a question, Why do people dig shibari? It seems that it is all sizzle and no steak. Isn't it just some subbydom rope shit? Wouldn't a weal Dom just use some duct tape or rope with any old knot?

It's just more pussy Doms catering to the wants of a sub. cuz she wants to look all pretty and shit when she is tied up and ass fucked.

Maybe it's easy to become jaded when there's only one perspective. Maybe if you did things together privately, you'd find your tolerance and enjoyment of public play returning.
That's actually one of the reasons we go to public dungeons. Not to play publicly (we're not comfortable doing that) but to give a whole other view that we can't get in our bedroom.
