Hi,

I agree with the other folks who advised you to go talk to a doctor about passing out during orgasm. Today I saw a notice posted on the bulletin board at the Y about this. Seizure or fainting with exertion, excitement or startle could well indicate a very serious heart condition.

Please, please see a doctor!

When I first heard of this it was referred to as "la petite mort" in french or the little death. I am happy that I have heard about a case of this phenomenon now and happy that you have found someone that can bring you to that state. While it is a fairly rare occurrence some people are prone to it. It is important to note as others have said that if you start fainting during any other kind of physical activity that you consult your physician immediately but until then just enjoy.

On a side note "la petite mort" has also been used to describe just orgasm.

i've finally asked my doctor what the cause for this might be. He said it's normal for some people to pass out for orgasm, since they hyperventilate and dizziness/passing out can happen as a result. It was hard as hell for me to ask that, but he took it all in stride. lol

Did your doctor run any tests? Its not unheard of but not very common to faint because of an orgasm. There's a special term for it (not just le petite morte) but I forget what it is and google isn't bringing it up. Fainting from orgasm can be a sign of serious illness such as blood pressure issues and possibly a heart arrhythmia. I think that an EKG stress test will show an arrhythmia. I think that you should ask for testing just to be sure. A second opinion never hurts either.

Orgasm means little death in it's French root. If you actually lose cociousness becasue you enjoy it so much I say leave it alone. That's just how you are built. If you are not deprived of oxygen (on this forum you have to ask) nor hanging from a noose or something (again, have to ask sometimes) it is probably due to a deep drop in blood sugar.

For example how a taser works. It causes so much muscular reaction all at once the body is that tired, just like that. If you cum that hard, be thankful.

When this happens and you come to, is your vision screwed up ? Like tunnelvision or something for a moment ? If so it may be a droop in blood pressure. If so, there are two possibilities. One is that you're unstable, the other is a possible heart problem. For about $40 you can get a BP reader at the pharmacy. The readings are not as reliable as when done by a professional, On your wrist to determine the real numbers you always have to hold your arm the same way as it checks you.

But this only results in the skewing of the whole reading. If you hold your arm above the body, it will be low, if you just let it hang down it will be high. However what matters is the difference between systolic and diastolic. They should be 40 point apart with a relatively healthy heart. Some go higher, those much under have an inefficient heart which indicates a problem.

Even that is not a problem, I know one who was diagnosed with a heart problem and a murmer in their teen years and is now well over 70. The body adapts.

So even in the worst case scenario I don't think you have much to worry about. If it concerns you, go to the doctor, get a blood workup and many might find it surprising, but I suspect that doctors have sex too........ Kink need not be mentioned, unless when this happens you are hanging by your feet or something :-)

And if this happens all the time and you haven't dropped dead, there is no reason to rush to the ER.

Actually, just last week now, i had a stress-EKG and a whole bunch of tests, and i'm as healthy as a horse.

Youse lucky wimmens don't understand, us guys don'y get that. Sure we pass out but usually after a beer. Most of us will never experience that sort of ecstacy. You just don't understand all we do for you :-)

My girl has passed out from orgasm a couple times. It scares the hell out of Me. Now, she knows to safe word right before that point. she was initially ashamed to safe word, but we talked about it and I explained to her that I have to be able to trust to use her safe word if she needs to stop for ANY reason. These days though, I can usually tell when she needs Me to stop. When she's already had a few orgasms and her eyes start to glaze over, it's time to let her rest. :)

ANY instance of passing out should be discussed with a doctor! Exercise and other events that causes an increased cardiac workload can make a heart problem more obvious. Definitely not something you should ignore.

Hi. First of all, i was DWCskitten and it did not work out for personal reasons. He was "good" it's true, but i won't go into that. Anyway, yes i did have an EKG not too long ago (after that started happening) and everything was perfectly normal. And my doctor said it was because of the hyperventilation associated with orgasming.

There is a possibility for actual brain shut down from an overload of pleasure as well, in much the same way that the brain shuts down in order to protect itself from an overload of pain. The two sensations are basically opposite sides of the same coin, and also touch and merge with many of the same nerves and parts of the limbic system. Although the studies are ongoing, the theories about the similarities originated specifically because of masochism if I recall correctly. I'm not sure though, I'd have to go back and check some of the studies.

kitten,

i dont usually post here, i just read and remain quiet. But, i wanted to assure you, "been there done that." Unkown to me at the time, it was purposely done. He very much knew what he was doing, as was explained after as i woke back up dazed, spaced, and scared the first time it happened.

Glad you went to the doctor, but with a clean bill of health, just enjoy. It is indeed a rare thing, that He can "give" this to you. i've never known it again since "Him," but i do know that it's possible, and beautiful beyond what words can express.

My fantasy has always been to be tied down tightly and forced to cum over and over and over. When I start screaming for him (or her) to stop, they just ignore me and keep on. I have never gone past that experience - i always beg to stop. What happens????
