Teach fifth graders that “sexual intercourse includes, but is not limited to vaginal, oral, or anal penetration;
Teach kindergarteners about “basic reproductive body parts (penis, vagina, breast, nipples, testicles, scrotum).”
Teach all grades that marriage is a “commitment by two people.”
Teach first graders that “human beings can love people of the same gender & people of another gender.”
Teach that sexual orientation refers to a “person’s physical and/or romantic attraction to an individual of the same and/or different gender.”
Teach sixth graders that sexual intercourse includes “using the penis, fingers, tongue or objects.”

"Teach kindergartners about “basic reproductive body parts (penis, vagina, breast, nipples, testicles, scrotum.)"

It doesn't say they are teaching 5 year-olds where to put their penis or that something will be going in to their vagina (or other orifices).  It's about teaching them names of body parts.  I don't see how it's much different from teaching them what their arms, legs and nose are called.

Remember the little boy in the movie Kindergarten Cop who announced, "Boys have a penis, girls have a vagina!"  Did anyone think that kid was warped for life because he knew that?

Status: offline 		The funny thing is, I remember when I was in grade school, having a sex ed class in gym. I don't remember how old, 5th or 6th grade. They basically did the whole boring, identifying the bits and how those bits would be changing due to puberty. That was the extent of the education but still........if they were comfortable doing that wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy back then.....what is the big deal?

Oh yeahhhhhhhhhhhh, it's because our President thought it was a good idea!!!!! Bing bing bing!!!!! Lightbulb moment!!!!

I went to school outside Atlanta and for us it was 6th grade and I remember it because it was done in gender segregated classes and we only got stuff about our bodies and then a bunch of scare stuff about disease and pregnancy. It was pretty pathetic.

Teaching a 8 year old that someone putting their hand beneath their dress and fondling their breasts... is empowering.

teaching a 9 year old boy that the man down the street just dropped his pants and exposed his penis... is empowering.

using the correct terminology is empowering

Why should our children not be empowered?

Oh yeah, because it makes the parents uncomfortable.

Status: offline 		same here and the one day it was on the howdie doodie stuff it was taught by catholic priests to the boys (it was a public gradeschool) they imported them from the local catholic school (but it turns out they were experts, hah?) and we wanted more to know what the girls class was doing......................I am sure they were having lesbian sex in there............

Sadly its been more like 30 years ago for me. You'd think in almost 20 years things would have advanced far enough that girls could know that boys have penises and vice versa.
