Greetings Vran....

Uhhh....I think you missed Bear's point. It looked to me like he was trying to lock the lid on your bin of monkey chow. <grins>

Be well.....

It has always been interesting to be a fly on the wall and just watch with a certain amusement of course.   People who purport to have certain beliefs, codes, honesty, and/or honor lose it ever so conveniently even today-nothing really has changed. Those same inconsistencies exist and are spread, corrected, but only taken depending on who is doing the correcting then contradicted by the same doing the correcting by way of their own conduct.  The same conduct which would otherwise contradict those beliefs reign true.   “I am not really hungry any more.”   Always…   Rapture

~FR~

I have a box, it has six sides, and it is brown. Now that we know what a box looks like, is the box happy having just 6 sides and being brown? Will the box ever examine itself, and determine whether inside, and outside count as sides? Will it the box always be happy being a box? Human nature and development is something that continues to change in complexity, but is easily seen in it's simplicity. Is the Gorean series a exploration of human nature and development, within the paramters drawn by the creator of the series? Is it an external examination of what is, or what should be, or is it a story of introspection and self truths?

Some are happy being a box, I have mountains to climb, and no time for such limitations.

Some times a box is just a box and a story is just a story. Some mountains are just pretty as a background for a picture or painting. What makes most things something more is the people who look at something and see more within it, or who see something and want to do more with it than just see it. Complexity is often created by the people involved but that is as it should be. As human beings we have the ability to make a box, a story, or a really big rock (Mountain) into something more than the simple thing it is by doing something with it. It is the act of doing something with it, that makes it into something more. Sometimes as well it depends on the location of the object in question. A story never published hidden in a box never opened at the base of a mountain at the bottom of the deepest part of the ocean are all full of possibilities.

If you get stoned, you can find deep philosophical meaning in just about anything. That doesn't make it particularly profound.

I guess it depends on who does it. Some indian tribes believe Peyote gaves them a way into the Spirit World from which they draw insight.

You can find deep philosophical thought in everything without being stoned as well, children are great philosophers why is one of the first words they say.
