Greetings Masters
Greetings Mistresses
Greetings imbonded ones

Debra you said "Peace of mind comes to the forefront here..on many levels. It is an elusive thing though. Is it actually achievable? or does one constantly chase it? What do you think?"

I do believe "peace of mind" can be achieved by practicing appreciation, gratitude, meditation and relaxation exercises to bring calm and ease into ones spirit. It's much harder to retain peace of mind for long periods of time. While people believe in different things peace of mind can be taught and learned by Reiki, Chakra tuning, Gi Gong, Yoga, Tai Chi. One must examine the physical, mental, emotional and behavioral areas of their lives and "let go". Some even use hypnosis.

If someone can't let go of or learn to control their fears, anxieties, pain, depression, hatred, hostility, jealousies, negative behavior, or won't let go.. then no, I don't believe they will ever experience peace of mind. They will always have something nipping at them and there will never be peace or harmony in that.

Wishing you well,
~twinkle

To me "peace of mind" is reached through continual internal reflection, reconciliation and acceptance of whom and what we are, wholly and fully. The methods that you have mentioned, twinkle, is and are *just* tools for relaxation and calmness. They won't as I see it removed the base problem or problems, just ease the pain and calm the nerves while the center of conflict remains.

Also, to wish for peace is utterly utopian. I also think that it goes against the human mind, in that we as males are driven to conquer, possess and to dominate. Even to the extend of our own deaths for doing so. Peace to me is a status of no movement or advance, of a held status que with a docile, bovine population to follow. While peace is a noble thought, indeed, given the nature of man, it will never happen or will such a period remain. We are not a peaceful race nor are it ingrained in us to be so.

Besides, being of the merchants, my own reflection is that times of conflict and strife are usually the best time for trading and doing business. All going back to supply and demand and when to make a profit.

I wish you well,

  Camerius

If anyone knows how to remove/delete a post, please share.    I have written the Mods, asking for my post to be removed.  As usual, I skimmed and didn't read the entire thread, missing the request from the OP about goreans only responding.  My apologies to the OP.

Lisa,

There is no need to apologize. The fault is mine. The last line of the original post was included because a previous poster got jumped because their thread did not pertain to Goreans. I rarely post on the boards other than Gorean, and this thread was rather generic in nature, I suppose I was a bit wary of how people might take the topic. I did not really mean to exclude anyone, just rather to make known why it was posted here and not in a general forum.

well wishes,

debra

( if this explaination gets posted twice in different words, it is because I still don't quite know how to work the windows)

Greetings Master

Yes Master this is true. Just tools. Base problems as one has learned can only be achieved if it can be achieved at all from confronting issues face to face and over coming them. The tools can be helpful for reflection. Yet as you said they are just tools.

Thank you for your reply Master
she wishes you a wonderful day

Sincerely,
~twinkle

This is my last response because I don't want to go 'off topic'...

This has nothing to do with being politically correct, or thinking everyone is the same, or anything such as that.

I am sure the op knows who considers themselves to be Gorean and who doesn't.

Why stifle someone from sharing their thoughts, especially if perhaps the op inspired someone to share something meaningful to them. And I didn't realize that you had to have certain expertise regarding what you personally 'longed for'.

Be well,
sgs

Greetings and salutations...

A interesting question, for someone whose been awol along the boards. Mine would be a complex answer, first would be to live closer to Mistress Liz. I find her a astonishing woman, one I find dearly missed.

Two might be, a odd longing when you've met someone who has all the traits of a Master but no knowledge of Gor. Would be, how they say the brass to express a desire to see him know more of it.

Three, well -chuckles- two might be enough for now.. -smiles-

What do In long for?...First girl has been gravely ill these past few years, and the prognosis is not good... any slight relief for her, a partial return to health would be marvelous....   “Beautiful enough to be collared is a Gorean compliment.” (John Norman, Guardsman of Gor).  As ill as she is, first girl is truly beautiful in her collar!  I wish you well!

Well seems I signed up just to reply to this. So first thing first Tal.

For me a good book, classical music playing as I read.

But most of all the same reason I signed up. Someone to understand me.

Tal, Greetings, Good day.

I must say, no matter how many of the Gorean threads I read, they are always interesting or educational. Fascinating.
