Awareness that is true. I will confess that In many ways I am insecure.

Comes from being hard of hearing and many years of being the target of school bullies, as well as much deeper emotional scars.

That said I am aware of this weakness and striving to come out of that shell hence me being here. My metamorphosis is just starting and even Tarl didn't become the Gorean he became later over night.

Tarl also didn't make excuses for his shortcomings as a would-be Gorean.

Everybody has got something wrong with them. Everybody has accumulated scars in their youth.

Using those things as a justification, excuse or clarification when somebody calls you on something is hardly telling of how you're striving to overcome the problem.

Why not become a self assured man, then worry about the gorean aspect? Do you feel that affixing the label to yourself prior to being that confident person will help in your journey?
