Greetings Masters, Mistresses and slaves...

Master loves the PBS, so we have been watching a set of shows that places twenty first century people in the 1800's to see how they would make out.   This has been done on the Frontier, the Eastern Coast and now, a Texas ranch.   In each one you can find women complaining about how life is just not fair, (mind you this was a selection process, a volunteer basis and it was well known how life was for women in the 1800's), but I think the Texas ranch is by far the worst.

Lazy women lounging around in their underwear while flies took over the kitchen, dishes not being washed for days while the men were on a cattle drive, vegetables rotting in the field and nothing but whining and moaning about how tough it was for females.   Btw, when I say flies took over the kitchen...I was being literal.  They drapped cheese cloth on the windows to try and keep some out, but because they were too occupied with the pity party it never occured to them that someone should go outside and pick up the horse manure that was piled by the porch.   Heaven forbid they should get up and actually do something.  In a small ranch house, 4 women ( the ranch owners wife and daughters) should have been able to keep things up to date and clean.

The  "ranch owners wife", ruled her husband with an iron fist, she made him promise to not make any decisions without her input, she listened through windows when he talked to his hired hands, then chastised him if he didn't act accordingly.     I felt sorry for her husband, the only enjoyment he received was when he was out of her sight, riding a horse far, far away.  The cowboys and the cook joked about it, the poor man literally could not make a decision without checking with the wife, and if he tried, she let him know it was wrong.

It struck me, after reading some of the posts here, that THIS is the precise opposite of life with a gorean man.  People run off with the comments about gor coming from a set of sci fi books, yet perhaps this one movie, could best illustrate what lies deeper within the pages of those books.   Maybe, this will help explain why women are drawn to gorean men.  As a woman, I was grinding my teeth watching this program, thinking that what that ranch truly needed was a few good slaves, or...just some gorean men *smiles*

Wishing all a pleasant weekend,

lisa{Sea's}

It sounds lise like the Rancher you spoke about, deserves a collar for being too slave like to his wife. I'd love to see the programs...

Tal and greetings

I think I have seen this program or at least something simular with the same results.   There has been a few threads on topics of this nature.   That our modrean socity has gotten to civilized and that moderan man is not able to perform his role and that we should return to a more primitive time that is structured with man as leaders.

I wish you well

I have seen most of those programs that they put out. My favorite was the victorian era. On one the family had a set of teenage girls, believe it or not, the biggest complaint was NOT the work that the women and girls were required to perform, but rather the corsets that they had to wear all the time.
Another of my favorites was when they placed the families in Puritan times. Quite interesting indeed.

Greetings Mistress,

That too!  I had forgotten, or blocked out, all the moaning about clothing and how "unfair" it was to women.   I think that one word..."unfair", was used more then any other in all of the programs.  Aside from the Texas ranch, we have seen the Frontier and Colonial, they have one on Victorian?   In most of them, it was interesting how the men took to the life change much easier then the women.  There were a few exceptions of whinning men, but on the whole the women complained much more!  The men seemed to relish the chance to work with their hands, building and making things, getting back to basics...while the women groaned about their clothing and how miserable they were.

They are an interesting look into human nature, for sure :)  I will look for the Victorian episode, thank you.

Best of wishes,
lisa{Sea's}

From a purely Bearish perspective, and from a general view, clohes are evil contraptions mostly and are designed to hid or at least make unavailable (unless yopu want to get arrested) immediate accecess to the more intimate parts of a womans bodt as well as preventing the veiwing of such a delectable and certainly delightfull animal in all her moods, actions from working to sleeping, from relaxing to trembeling with anticipation of sexual release... How dare such a beast be forced by convention to shield herself and delay her natural state of exposing herself before potential Masters? (Ok so I'm a throwback to a Victorian rake).

Ah yes ... Clothes ... Evil nasty things that keep pale little bits like myself from turning into a bright red crisp when working in the sun. And corsets ... Dear Lord ... Those wicked things that gradually over time reshape a woman's curves into an even more delicious appearance. (Better than weight watchers, I tell ya ... But wait, clothes are bad. Right.) And what man wants to savor the pleasure of unwrapping his woman for the first time, removing her clothes and knowing that he's the only man to have ever seen that much of her. Yeah, clothes are disgusting. God. We should just do away with them altogether.

*grins*

Although if we did do away with clothes, I wouldn't be able to do outside work ... At least not during the sunniest days. I'd be burnt to a crisp and I don't know of any man who finds that particularly attractive so if women were kept naked all the time, girls like myself anyway might have a decent chance of being reserved for indoor work. Hmm, I could live with that ... Give me a dirty kitchen to clean over picking up dog patties in the back yard ANY day!

Given better health I prefer to work outdoors but clothing is necessary given the high incidence the Aussie sun has in causing skin cancer.. However, then it becomes the choice of clothing and there is no need for those delectable intimate parts to be locked away under a  free flowing work robe...Safety is a primary consideration when working at any time and anywhere. (Not partial to deep fried tits on a girl cooking either...)

Hi lisa,

Master and I also love PBS and happened to catch an episode of Texas Ranchhouse last week (the one with the Comanche's camping out and trading with them). I had much the same reaction you did. I just wanted the rancher to get some balls!!! The disrespect his wife and that damn 'maid' turned cowgirl showed to the trail boss was unbelievable. I really enjoyed the Frontier shows but I don't know if I can watch much more of the Ranchhouse shows. A guy I work with said that they (don't know who 'they' is) actually audited the Texas show because they went so far away from the actual historical facts.

Why on earth would you sign up for an historical show if you're going to bring modern (crappy) ideals to it?

Hi lisa,

We have been watching that show too. I cringe when I see how the ranch owner's wife behaves. Even if I wasn't owned and was my owner's wife...that would
-never- be tolerated...ever. It simply requires that man be a man. A tall order for that guy it seems. The daughters are no better...l-a-z-y.

I do agree with you and would like to add that the modern idea of mens clothing I find restictive.  I usually wear a medival tunic when I can, far more comfortable

Especially when home, my clothing preference renge through baggy pants style with a medieval type shirt but probably more in the style of the Norsemen (I'm happy to make them to suit me and rarely borrow a sewing machine), to a caftan type thinh but more in the style of the bedouin dress to matrial arts pants and jacket. (The wrap around jacket is great especailly being loose where I want it and the diamond insert stitched into the crutch of the pants gives me leg movement..
