I have read Ethical Slut and have several friends in poly households. I have read through a bunch of posts here and haven't seen many references to books, mostly a wealth of excellent experiential information in the posts. I am in need of some academic resources for a research paper pertaining to family patterns and poly or other "alternative" lifestyles. I looked up a number of books on Amazon and couldn't get an idea of relative value and usefullness.

I am hoping someone might have a suggestion for academic resources.

Thanks,

Genderfreeq

Thank you slaveluci, the one by Dr. Anapol looks promising for what I need, the others look interesting as as well.

Opening Up by Tristan Taormino was one of the best books I found when I was researching my own academic paper.  It includes quotes from other scholarly sources so the bibliography page should be as useful for you as the book itself.  Dr. Anapol's book wasn't nearly as helpful for me as Taormino's work.  Also, if you have access to JSTOR through your university, do searches for "polyandry", "polygamy", and "bigamy" depending on the nature of your thesis.
