I have heard of it, but never been there. (I'm more into submission for submission's sake than great pleasurable pain.[:)]) I believe you refer to "subspace".

There's a lot of ways to achieve that state. Meditation can produce it and, with practice, can do so regularly and pretty much at will. Tantra can do it. Prayer can do it. Distance running can too. Flogging and any assortment of other things can also do it. Yes, I'm familiar with the state.

I watched and particiapted in a public scene with two girlfriends. One was topping teh other, and I was being taught how to crop the bottom corretly. The scene went very well, and the bottom was in severe sun space. Forty five minutes or so after the scene had ben completed, and after proper after care had been given, we decide to leave. The bottom was to drive us home. Once in the car, it became apparent that the bottom was still in subspace, as her driving was noticably impared (she started driving down the street in the wrong lane). We quickly stopped the car and changed drivers. So yes, it's quite common for people to be in that state of mind, and its one that should not be taken too lightly.

I don't call it subspace I just consider ourselves being very much in tune with one another. We've been together a long time now. We can read one another well. To me subspace is just feeling very secure. Each person you talk to will have a different opinion though. What you are asking about euphoria some also call subspace. I think it just varies upon the individual.

Aaaahh "subspace". i have talked to many on this subject. Friends and strangers alike. Since i am not a masochist i figured i would never see this legendary place. . . and then i got a medium sized tattoo on the center of my lower back. BOY was that an experience!
