Perhaps that happens Master Kirata because Goreans seem to find a need to be on and about and open directly on a bdsm site. :)

Let me add on the numerous times and expended energy given by Goreans to outsiders professing they are not here to teach anyone what is Gorean. That alone sort of deflates any idea or notion of feeling a need to correct this so called misgiven direction that bdsmers have about Gorean anything.

Thank you joanneeve but it wasn't really a search for any real reason as much as it was a personal conclusion because of the repetitive acclamations of what Gorean is and what Gorean is not yet tends to find itself smack dab in the land of "is not" as if Goreans need to defend the personal philosophy they garner from the books to bdsm persons..who for the most part probably wouldn't give a rats hiney about Gorean if it weren't for Goreans finding themselves in the midst of any bdsm sites or conversations.

Greetings starshineowned,

It was a general observation and suggestion, I did not intend it to be aimed at you.

I wish you well,

joanne

this is interesting.

I have always seen gorean as an extension of bdsm.

A gorean lifestyle to me is a lifestyle of 24/7 voluntary slavery, well as close to real slavery as it can possibly be, without safe words. The master makes full decision about what happens. And the slave thoughts and opinions is not taken into consideration. I feel like the type of slavery portrayed in John Norman books are exactly like that.

That's why a gorean relationship will never appeal to me, although I do like some of their ideas for sexual play.

You do know that you don't NEED a slave to live, think and breathe as a Gorean? That one can perfectly well live without one or ever having owned one?

Actually, I am just learning this right now. So gorean is religion to some people on here? And so they aren't into taking slaves?

No.  It's not a religion.  See my other post.

No.  We all don't have slaves.  I have a FC, and it would take a special slave to be here... we tried one or two.  If you're intelligent, motivated, highly submissive, and don't mind a slobbery dog, inquire within.  I won't hold my breath.

This is a good read, and while Bear and I don't see eye to eye... well, that should be between him and me.

~~FR~~

I know people have posted this in the past, but for the new folks here who are trying to sort this all out, could someone give a few links of places that perhaps don't have such a strong BDSM influence and lean more towards a Gorean outlook?

After perusing this thread, it seems that having those places to go and read could prove helpful :)   Sorry, I would do it myself but we are breaking in a new computer, new browser and it doesn't like alot of places.  Still ironing the bugs out.

Just a thought, later all....

Lisa

Greetings AlwaysLisa,

There is the FAQ as a post it at the top of the forum...there is a number of websites that are purely Gorean suggested there.

I wish you well,

joanne

Hi joanneeve,

I saw those, however thought there might be new additions, or even that some of those might be defunct.  An update on the list is what I was thinking...sorry I didn't make that clear. :)
