I realize this isn't a question that has any specific answer. I'm just trying to get a general time frame. And that it also depends on the person. I have a burn on my stomach that was caused by a hot spot in a heating pad. I had first, second, and third degree burns from it. It has healed up quite nicely. My question is how long do burns stay tender? I was released from the burn clinic in September, with full healing. The burn occured in either February or March. I can't use Silvadien (sp), as I'm highly allergic to Sulfa drugs. So it was a matter of getting something that did not have sulfa in it. The third degree burn took a long time to heal and I have an indentation from it, which I was told would happen.

I hadn't noticed til today how tender it still is. I acciddently ran my fingernail across it and it really hurt.

No, I didn't lay on the heating pad either. Master wasn't sure how old the heating pad was, so we pitched it.

Holy crap.  Full thickness (3rd degree) burns from a heating pad!  OUCH!

Burns are tricky business--they have very complex healing issues, especially over "hollow" organs.
Please call the burn center that treated you and have them evaluate if necessary.  Not something to experiment with internet advice.
Good luck to you--hope it heals up soon.

It is completely healed up. Was just wondering how long it would take for the tenderness to be gone. Yes from a heating pad. Only thing Master can think of is that a wire lost its coating inside it. Yes it was a big OUCH. Fortunately, I have a high pain tolerance, so didn't have too much pain.
