I was 15 when I hit the leather scene.  I grew up in the leathermen scene.  I produced female impersonator shows.  I produced my first female impersonator show at the age of 16.  Not a little club event, a theater venue at the Latin Quarter in Detroit.  It was the biggest female impersonator show since The lipstick Box Review in the roaring 20s.  A huge event with news coverage and someone even filmed it.  (ETA, the point is that as producer, I met hundreds of transsexuals and got to know what makes them tick) 

I experimented with all the roles, even switch and submissive.  By the time I was 16, I had found my dominance and sadism.  Being fresh to my role, I actually preferred submissive transsexuals because they were very role conscious and held their place firmly.  

If you are born with a man’s toolbox, but have the self awareness to sort out and change your sexuality, and the wherewithal to pull off living as female, the awareness and will power required to sort out the boundaries of submission and live it is a minor feat in comparison.  A submissive shemale living as a female holds her place because it is her choice.  It may have been dumb luck, but I never had a transsexual slave with self delusions about Master doing all the work and being responsible for their submission.  

By the time I hit my 20s, I preferred female slaves and went hetro by educated choice.  That was around 35 years ago.

Resident Sadist, thank you so much for sharing your fascinating tale. It's so rare to read an account of desire for trans people, especially one as raw and honest as yours.

The voices of trans ppls' lovers are so silent. There are thousands and thousands of people out there who have had fulfilling relationships with trans people (of all varieties). Those of us interested in the trans scene hear of the many difficulties trans people have in their everyday lives. I've often wondered how it must be for those who desire trans people sexually. In many ways, I suspect the isolation and lonelieness must be at least as bad for trans ppl's lovers as it is for trans ppl themselves.

There is also a huge transgender sex worker population/industry out there. So there is a huge demand for trans ppls' sexual services too.

Thanks again for opening up this area of silence. I hope that others who have enjoyed trans people affections and desires over the years can feel comfortable adding their experiences to yours. I for one would really like to hear these stories.

i already know his prejudices. It is hardly worth the debate or the anguish.

Yet I find it quite amusing to encounter such a bigoted person who lives in a city with the largest G.L.B.T. community in Canada. And second only to San Fran. i don’t blame him for hiding his face.

Shall i watch NS’s abusive conduct, until the thread becomes locked? Or shall i put my 2 cents in.

i am undecided as yet.

Being gay (or bi) wasn’t politically correct back then and has barely grown to a “don’t ask don’t tell” standard these days.  You had to have a firm self image to do what you want when it goes against the grain of society… or your parents’ notions of what they thought you were.     

So a gay man/woman in the leather crowd had already thrown “politically correct” out the window when they acknowledge their own sexuality.  They were way past PC long before they picked up leather.  The gay leather subculture reflects that attitude.  I migrated to the gay leather crowd because of the like-minded people there, not because I was a cock hound.  In fact, it was quite the reverse, I preferred dysfunctional (hormones) pre-ops that planned to get surgery.  I wanted a submissive that would function in the female role.  The transsexual showgirls were a far sight more stable at being submissive females than the average straight teenage female submissive, who was pretty much an unstable emotional mess.  

So tuck your tool and gimme’ that fine round ass.  There are spanking to be doled out, boots that need kissing and a man that needs pleasing.

Thing is, bigotry and prejudice often covers a fear of the unknown and people cling to it like a shield.

It's ugly, distasteful and nasty to see but it exists, and I guess whilst in general lifestyle folks are more open minded, not all are.

It is a shame that such thought patterns exist along with racism, homophobia etc.

The times you are referring to might have been before my time (I'm 30). Some of the older women on the dyke S&M scene have told me of the long parallel battles they waged for acceptance within the gay community and the womens' movement. A lot of Pat Califia's earlier work is centred around these struggles. So yes, it took balls to go against the grain back then, just as it takes balls to be transgender person today.

One view of the attration that submission holds for trans women is that in S&M the sexual practices are not as rigidly gender-demarcated as in eg straight sex. The rituals of S&M practices are the meeting point between the various players. These rituals take precedence over the genitial fetishisation that can be said to characterise straight (and gay) sexual practices. It opens up possibilities of sexual practices that are beyond gender in a sense, or perhaps, an area where the tyranny of gender so overwhelmning in the everyday world has been diminished somewhat . Kate Bornstein argues this in her book "Gender Outlaw". How do you feel about this perspective?

I relate to and consider trans folks as the gender they want to be and feel they are, even if they are pre-op. I have trans folks, both MtF and FtM, among my better friends. The MtF is post-op and she is sexy as all hell. She was so proud of her new boobs and pussy she showed them to myself and another friend of hers. They're real and they look fucking spectacular! They're perfect. She's just as much a woman as any born-female woman. I can only wish I was as pretty as her and she has personality that just doesn't quit. So anyone who insists on continuing to call trans folks the sex they were born as, I just can't agree with that shit.

And, RS, that OP is sexy as all hell! I wish more people would start positive threads about trans folks and being involved with them, rather than all the negative B.S. we usually see about them.
