Windygal -> Male chastity (3/15/2012 9:11:00 PM)

I have never used a device on a sub before, but am thinking of getting one for a sub I have now. He has had experience with the Jailbird from the Mature Metal site, but it is $300, is there one that is less expensive but can be worn comfortably all day at work, and to sleep in as well? How often should he be let out? Can it harm him in any way? thanks

I've found that the fit depends on the person. Same goes for how long they can wear it without chaffing. After that it's just a matter of balancing keeping it lubricated with keeping it clean...

Ahhhhh I miss my chastity boi's

there are many different devices out there. each as its pros and cons. i found the cb6000 very wearable for extended periods as well as the birdlock. both can be purchased on e-bay as wellas many other sites for reasonable prices, under $100. you might alos look at the koalaswim.com site for their chastity devices. the prices are pretty good.

My Experience:
I used 4 types (plastic, metal tube, cage, insertable) bought from eBay, all Chinese manufacture and cheap, $25-45. I've lived with the pros/cons of each without spending big bucks on the 'real' thing. My experience may not be yours, so you'll need to experiment, but big $$ won't necessarily buy the best choice for You. They all tend to run small for me :) and i had difficulty getting in the tube (aloe gel worked best), cannot sleep with them without serious pain some times (but usually relief with using bathroom), and had some swelling that became painful over days. For chafe (base ring mostly), the best was HypaFix 2" tape that is breathable and stays on for days, thru showers and all. Next best was 3M Micropore -adhesive was less durable. NewSkin type (liquid plastic) didn't work well (messy, poor protection/durability).

Best/worst features for ME, by type:
Plastic (CB6000 type) -light, for exercise, but had swelling thru open slots.
Metal tube - Most secure, no way to pleasure. 'Sharp' edges pinched; detectable? -not bent naturally. Poor hygiene.
Metal cage - Easy hygiene; looks good. Difficult to push into tube, and short pins to base ring pinches easily.
Insertable (urethral tube) Most comfortable, least detectable. Can get 'off' while wearing, tho' definitely painful.

Best to buy a version that includes multiple size base rings -all the measuring guides can't assure the 'sweet spot' between comfort and security. I prefer the split base ring (vs solid ring) for easy of use but if your in for weeks that's not a issue. The Asian knockoffs have held up fine. No plastic cracks, minor rust on chrome plated steel (often sold as stainless -to check SS much less magnetic and duller than chrome)

Never tried the waist belt type. DreamLover 2000 looks like a phenomenal feature set, with matching price ($1400).

For those that travel and may need to get out for serious reason, I found a resettable combo lock that can be closed/locked without the dials set to the opening numbers. That's rare and perfect if you successfully convince keyholder to get out, but can later use another lock (in open state) to re-secure chastity device (with Skype proof probably). See BudgetGadgets.com Mini 3 Digits Combination Padlocks Lock (ID=971). Only $2 each with free shipping from, yes, China (get several!).
