londonswitch here are some more accurate figures along with the links on population of India and China... http://www.indiachld.com/population_of_india.htm http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/english/doc/2004-03 As you can see i was not making up these figures off the top of my head !

First link doesn't work

Second link is too slow, but when it does make it, I haven't got an open mind on the integrity of this publication, having seen my own data distorted in it last Feb 2003. It is not a bias free organ of the press. China Daily is I *think* owned by the United Daily News group, about whom the Asia Media Network have some reservations.

Thirdly, I agreed with you about your figures being broadly correct. I didn't say you were making those up. I am making the point that if you use figures to give weight to an arugment, their source must be transparent, and the peers of those giving the data should have made some assessment of their validity.

If the first link does not work just pop up google and write 'india population " it will be the very first at the top. All i was trying to point out is that if this is a reflection of where society is headed then we cannot insure our that our laws will remain intact once they impose their own. Yes i agree that this is not something that will happen overnight but their strength in numbers will overwhelm anyone`s opinion that differs from theirs because you have to believe that at some point in time these countries will advance themselves academically and start to infiltrate the rest of the world. The media estimates in my country alone that there could be up to 2 million illegal immigrants from china and the middle east , are we to take these people lightly once they or their children start joining the ranks of our cabinet ministers and become politically empowered enough to express their views. And coming back to the gender issue will women still have that voice they have today if their population is now already popping out 20 or 30 more men than women every hour? There will be an imbalance and even as a man i could tell you that this is not a good thing ! There will be more rapes more abductions of women and also mercenary marriages in those countries if this keeps up , not to say that this is not going on right now but you know what i mean !

re: Media estimates, see previous posts. I would prefer to do an exploded search in medline if I needed further study in the subject.

It's probably best humane practice not to take any people lightly, regardless of status.

Please advise of solutions to the gender imbalance situation in situations allied to absolute and extreme relative poverties (without using any of the projects, plans, philosophy or ethics of feminism)

Yes, yes. Rivers of blood. Thank you for the dire prognastication. Consider me suitably doomed and gloomed.

Isn`t our society diverse enough that we have to create another cubicle of space for each individual who has another way of looking at life?

relay, that was well put. i'm not sure if you've noticed, but it appears that you are not converting anyone that you're preaching too.

why not just agree to disagree and be done with it?

Cheers,

The media being the news i hear at night on tv the newspapers i read in the day and the reputable articles that i may come across. Feminism is about the population of the female gender so when the male gender plays a key role in their continuance you should take notice. I am giving you the forecast and you are telling me that it`s private property. Climate does not differentiate, it falls where it may. So lock up your endeavored ideals and unresolved agendas because it won`t be long before we see the hordes of countless asian men starting to do the happy dance.

There was always one thing wrong about feminism that many of you die hard undeprogrammable bleeding heart followers fail to see......If women need constant laws, policies, rules and ongoing legislation to protect themselves from just an ordinary man then in my books they "ARE" not and "NEVER" will be "EQUAL" to men.
