I admit that the mods seem to have caused more work for themselves coming out and trying to be more personable... it was probably a lot easier for them when they were perceived more like this...

Although I've no idea what kind of fool would tremble in fear over an email........on a kink site......that is FREE. I am guessing that removing the hover feature would definitely increase the guarantee of email deleted really not read.

Or maybe I am just a weirdo that way...

I actually thought of you as I was posting that, knowing it didn't apply to you. When I was asking about the hover, I also asked if we could remove the ability to delete unread on golden mail AND the ability to save it to outside email, because I was picturing it sitting there, torturing someone, with the NEW MAIL all lit up in red, and the ONLY choices being let it sit there for 6 months like all mail, or open it.

It speaks to my sadistic side.

Well, since my red 'New Email' has been lit up for quite a long time, maybe even months.....I cannot speak to the issue of it being an annoyance.

I just don't log into that side often enough for it to matter.

I keep logged into both sides since I do get cmail from people from THIS side that I actually want to read and respond to in a somewhat timely basis.

Plus, I have no problem with ignoring cmail I don't want to read, or phone calls I don't want to respond to, or snail mail I take from my mail box and toss directly into the recyling bin (after a brief prayer to the trees that died).

But I'd read mod mail for the same reason I go for the trainwreck threads, I need to know. Us cats are curious that way.

My own sense of sadism coupled with my lack of give a damn tends to over power my curiousity.

I was wondering, with people like Cryptic
who seem to be typing with a gun to their
head, how many people are under some
kind of serious warning right now?

I could just be paranoid but I feel like theres
a heap of big brother stuff going on behind
the scenes!

You/we're all under the Mods thumbs.

That's why they're there.

They have a valid job to do.

Don't believe it? Test it.

With this my view is, there's Forum rules
and "my rules", my rules might be a girl steps
out of line she gets put in her place but I
would never impose or enforce that on anyone
besides my partner. Why?
Because the random bitch on the Forum doesn't
belong to me, as far as I'm concerned you play
by the rules of The forum or you have no business
Posting in it.
Think of it this way, I might think it's entirely
appropriate to slap a girl on the ass because I
feel like it, but would I want any of my sisters,
my mum or my partner to Post on a forum
where anyone can take that liberty with them...

It's the same with hitting a girl, sexual
harassment and a whole raft of other things
which I might think are personally silly when
in the privacy of my own home but...
would I want to lose the protection that those
things gave my friends and family On the forum,
No.

And that's why I play by the rules, if I want
my loved ones to be treated with respect and
courtesy and if I want people to come to their
aid should they need it, then I have to show
respect, courtesy and give aid, which I do and
have.

Hmm that does't translate to me being under
anyones anything in my book.

And I'm not going to stick my hand up to do that
job! So keep up the good work Mods!

I am still treed.

I am not allowed to argue that specific people are biased, and - by analogy - that fish are wet and that some bears steal honey, nor that I am opposed to a specific form of mutilation. (Thus I even cannot state that I am opposed to all mutilations.)

I am being sorely persecuted. My only solace is that my name may be written down in the Book of Martyrs - and perchance in the Guinness Book of Records - as one of most thumbed people on the CM forums, and that far future generations, if any humans then still exist, will reckon me a suffering saint and will say a prayer for my spirit.
