I am intrigued by whipping and would love to experience being tied to a whipping post, have a sentence read allowed as to the number of lashes to be applied. My question is I am OK with welts but broken skin and bloody welts scare me. Can I be whipped to welts only or is this an impossible feat?

It's not impossible to be whipped and have no broken skin. It does take someone who has some experience with the whip. It's not something everyone can do.

Not only is it possible, I would highly suggest that you only allow someone who has that kind of control with a whip to top you with one.

This statement is very true. I have been a long fan of these whips and did lots of research about them before taking the plunge and experiencing it. I had 50 strokes, most of them developed immediate welts but none ever broke the skin. The pain from the lashes is different from other whips and floggers I've felt. For me, it felt like a more complex pain, containing sting, burning and also a sort of icey feel too :-) At about stroke 35, I was really starting to feel it (was hanging from my bonds i think) but was allowed to recover (of course!) and the remaining ones were a little more spaced apart but still strong! I was never pushed too far, never received a stroke in a dangerous place (mid-riff, head, wrap-around etc) so I had full trust.

Go for it but maybe try a taster first!
