I had a copy of the MAGE deck and it was stolen by a roomie - and never found its replacement

There's a bucket of them on Amazon right now. Might get me one soon.

I liked that deck!

Yeah it is a good deck. I do like the box set the first edition come with over the second edition one though the cards are mostly the same. The deck have some interesting symbolism, especially if you have also been playing the RPG game. Mage the Ascension have fantastic symbolism and great wisdom in it really, the game challenges you to think about the nature of reality.

I wish you well

The wrinkle I would add to all of this is the quantum physics principle that says the very act of observing a phenomenon alters it. So every time we look at a situation with the cards, we thereby change or affect that situation.
I don't think this is bad or good, but I remember it when I lay the cards to look into something.

IF those cards were dealt to me I see these several things.

Thank you, Bigsqueezer! I appreciate the effort and extra-card insight. I came to many of the same conclusions you did. You would be the person I'd consult in a serious matter since I don't generally read for myself on anything of significant importance.

Ladies and gentlemen, doubters and believers, I can say with confidence Bigsqueezer's reading is the genuine article. Thanks again, BigS!!

Um... can't stop blushing ma'am. Humble thanks for your trust and I appreciate your kind words. if I can be of service I shall.

Yes I think it's great that the makers can combine two different medias. I had a lovely 'Lord Of The Rings' deck. long before the peter Jackson trilogy. I'll google 'The Mage' apparently it's quite a rare deck.

I love mixed media decks and decks based on fiction. I am an occultist, a Chaos magician so I use fiction in my occult works all the time, perhaps that is one of the reasons why I am Gorean, I like to use fiction in real life, but I am getting off topic. Yes the Mage the Ascension deck is rare, both of them are. I have had the second edition deck for a long time, but I have been looking for the first ed deck and I was lucky to find one I could afford.

I just got the House of Night Oracle Deck, not a Tarot but a Oracle deck but based on a fiction series of books. It is quite good. Here is a review of them if you are interested in fiction sources made into oracle decks.

You're right it's very hard to read the cards for yourself objectively, but, it can be done, it just needs lots practise .

I definitively agree with you on this, I try to read for myself once a day, and I think I am getting good results, if I may be so bold as to say. :)

I wish you well

By no means are you 'off topic', if you'd like to share your experiences in any metaphysical field, please go ahead on!

I do believe that we create our own reality, that what we believe and observe shape the world for us. However I have never been a big fan of Schrodinger's cat, I believe that animals have consciousness and that the cat would be able to observe itself. It is just like if you put me in a box and told me to drink from one of two bottles one with water and one with poison. In your reality I would be both alive and dead until you opened the box but in my reality I would know if I was alive at least.

I wish you well

Thank you though I will try to limit myself to the topics that relate to Tarot. Allot of Western Ceremonial magick for example tie into the Tarot, and it is an important tool, just not for divination but also for magick and spiritual self development work.

I wish you well

I'm new here. My favorite deck is The DruidCraft deck and Morgan Greer deck. I love reading cards and have done it for a long time. I'm glad that there is a place for tarot here. I wanted to invite anyone trying to learn to read cards to inbox me. I teach cards for a living and in my family as well.

Forehead slap!
Well MY cat could! I wonder why I never though of that one before.

...aside, my son hates any discussion about Schrodinger's Cat - whoever would do that to a cat fails to observe life and is missing half the story, he insists at 12 years old. (Beaming proud father... yes!) If we must put a life form in a box and subject it to potential gassing to death, why not a cockroach? So in our house I must speak of Schrodinger's Cockroach.

I love the DruidCraft deck, I can't quite get into the pagan ideology, though I support it. It's a beautiful deck.

Welcome, Gary.
