ORIGINAL: LafayetteLady They aren't concerned that you frequently get dizzy, fall down and black out? They've seen your BP high for months and said nothing?! I find two things difficult to believe here. One that they say nothing and two that you continue to see the same doctor. Is your PCP prescribing thyoid meds? He isn't qualified to deal with your blood pressure (if your statements are trueK, but knows how to regulate thyroid meds, rather than refer you to an endocrinologist? Sure. If I ever move to your state, you'll have to cmail his name. I wouldn't let him even treat a cold for me. She said she's already on Diovan, Metoprolol, Spironolactone and Lasix, and THEN they started on HCTZ. That's a shit ton of meds for someone so young. At this point, best to seriously cut back on the salt if the MDs is ok with her labs, and and get real about losing weight. I keep my sodium intake really low...it actually gets too low a lot and then I get muscle cramps bad. Which is one thing I'm worried about with the HCTZ...I'm pretty much chronically dehydrated as it is. >.<
