While the Feisty Sections were created so that adults could be adults and there would be less moderation in these sections, that does not mean there will be no moderation. These sections will not be a free-for-all.

If nearly every post you make includes a personal attack, inflammatory comments and turn these sections into word war, you are subject to moderation.

If a moderator is on a thread requesting that members temper themselves, we expect you to temper yourselves. You may say things that you normally wouldn't be allowed in other sections, but please tone it down at that point.

If it is too hard to understand, we can always go back to heavy moderation and lengthy bans.

Please. Work with me. Thank you.

We have a number of threads covering different aspects of what is going on in Ferguson. Please don't start a new thread on the topic. If another is started, you may lose anything that you post as I will be shutting them down. If there is some aspect to this that you don't believe is being covered and is important, please email and we can discuss it.

Thank you!

I have just added to the section guidelines, something that has been a long standing rule, but there was little need for it because other rules covered it with personal attacks, etc. It was used when it applied and I must bring it forward because there is more of a need in the Feisty sections.

I don't have time this week to do a number of things and looking up when this rule was used on the forum isn't something I have time for, but it is there. If you would like to look yourself, you might search words that Mod21 posted on this guideline. I know it's there because I saw it a couple times when I first came on as M3 and was doing a lot of research.

Mentioning the name of another member in a derogatory manner, on a thread they are not on, isn't allowed. That becomes harassment and could be a few other things as well. So, lets work on this one please.

Thank you and have a wonderful day!

With less moderation and the allowance to say things not allowed in other areas, I'm finding that people are taking advantage of this and are going overboard. Threads are becoming little more than member bashing or arguments with very little substance and that could mean that this forum is removed from the message board. Is this what you want? You all can either dial it down or lose it.

We are getting complaints from members that don't like things that are said about them. If you are unhappy with how this section does or doesn't function, then please, make use of the Current Affairs section that provides more moderation and has more rules in posting. We cannot be expected to moderate for things that are allowed.

You all have a choice on where you take part on the forums. We thought you would like a choice. Have we been wrong? Was I wrong to push for this freedom and choice?

Please do not expect staff to protect you when your choice is to take part in the Feisty sections and members are doing what is allowed. You can always start a thread on the same topic in a moderated area. Between the Feisty and more moderated forums that are duplicates of different forums, you are allowed to cross post or have two threads on the same topic. One in each section is permitted.

I can't keep fighting for the section and choice for adults if it clearly isn't going to work. More of you post here than in Current Affairs. What really is the problem here?

Feel free to email me. I may only be able to read your comments and not be able to respond to each of them, but I will listen to your input. Please do not tell me how I 'must' do it, abuse me or threaten me. I'm a little tired of it.

Thank you

If you have another member on hide, please do not use another members post to respond to the person you have on hide. Please do not unhide to respond and then rehide them.

The harassment is looking pretty serious in this section and this gives it far more punch. Time to back off a bit.

From this date on, I will be providing warnings and bans for those that seem determined to ruin the section for everyone. I have asked you all to consider what I've said and you seem to ignore my warnings. I am done talking.

Either tone it down, or lose the right to post.

Please watch the words you know are filtered.

I have found a number of threats, wishing harm on others, etc. This will carry a hefty ban. We are over it.

Thank you

I have been forced to do a number of bans today and I will hope that when taking part in hot topics, that everyone tempers themselves. Read the guidelines, because there will be no excuses from this point on. My understanding button broke.

Staff will be doing a count on insults and when we have results, will take action. We allowed feisty and insults, but I have repeatedly spoken about this topic and it seems some of you either ignore it, hope not to get caught, think I don't mean what I say or simply don't care. So, we will start counting and see how that goes. From this date on, bans will be immediate if your count of insults are the majority of your posting. I have warned you all repeatedly.

Any thread that is more insult than topic will be removed.

Here's the deal. After I lock this and you see it, you might consider the problems we are having.

Everyone that has insulted someone has typically been within guidelines of the Feisty sections, until they go too far. Now, each side and I mean each side, has put in tickets stating that the other side have gone too far and many of you have done something like it on other threads. So we have both sides saying this is wrong.

How about those that are sensitive, posting in Current Affairs?

I have brought this up many times. The reason you are in the Feisty section is because you like insulting one another and the argument. From your party/friend side for the most part.

Now, we have threats of and people saying this is too much and moderators aren't doing anything about it all. Those saying this, could be using it to spur action from staff when all they need to do is move to a more moderated forum. So what is really going on here?

Some that have gone too far and have been banned, after repeatedly going too far, have friends that are angry and blaming staff for being unfair. Do you really think we are stupid? If you like insulting people you post in the Dungeon and really go to town on other posters, but complain when others get into trouble or mods take action and suddenly you don't like the Feisty sections and blame the mods for being unfair and the section or some people too wild.

I am going to make a statement I never thought I would. For those of you that think I am trying to take out your team and am unfair. I lean toward democratic and liberal issues, but will vote for the person I like no matter the party. I like some republican things too. I am not a party person. Most that have been banned are on the same side of many issues as I am, but have been moderated because the poster has gone too far.

What is too far? We aren't understanding yet?

Mentioning a poster in childhood having sexual diseases. Talking about meeting and doing something violent. Attacking in more of your post than not attacking. Harassing another poster all the time. Harassing staff when they must take action. If you can call one another crazy, insane etc. and then get bent because someone mentions medication and call staff unfair because they allow it, you might think about what you're saying and have posted yourself. READ THE GUIDELINES. If you question if your statement is too far, you can always reach out and ask.

Now lets stop this game. If you can't handle the Feisty section and have many feisty comments to your credit, then maybe you shouldn't threaten staff or try to pull weight with the threats of leaving, etc.

It is your choice to post in the Dungeon and when you make it our fault or a party or friend issue, you can consider that we aren't going to be too pliable.

I am not a political referee and you all are not going to work staff as you are. I'm about ready to toss out all complaints, accusations, etc. and tell you all to move to Current Affairs. You all start using us as referees when you are guilty of taking advantage of the section, will be the ones moderated. There, I said it, you pushed that far. Stop harassing staff on behalf of your banned friends or party.

Play hard in the Dungeon or move to Current Affairs, if you don't leave as you have stated. You take part in the feisty and it is feisty.

A number of posters have received this warning today.

This is a warning letter regarding your post in a Feisty section. While we wish to provide an area where posters can have more freedom, a number of your post are directed at certain posters and from thread to thread the engagement between you all has resulted in too much of what we had hoped would be a good thing. (More posting freedom) This ongoing personal battle is becoming too much for even the Feisty section. Please consider engaging less with attacks aimed at others when you debate the topics.

I do hope that this message is heeded so that I don't have to take further action.

The IRS back under fire thread will not be returning to the forum. Most of the posts were removed.

To those that continuously follow other posters around the forum to continue a personal war, take warning. This is harassment and though this section is all about debate, many of you are taking it too far. Those that use gay type of insults will from this day on, be banned. Don't even hint at it. You will debate/fight to your death it seems, to fight for gay rights and then turn around and use these types of insults?

Not any more.
