I had to pick the flower from the ones offered here to show in chat because when I changed my primary pic to the one I love, which was the one displayed here, it deleted it and the one here was a blurry blob of hilarity-lolol

I've a question along this topic, apologies if this isn't the right place to ask...

How does one set their Chat Profile image to be their avatar, instead of vice-versa? Is that something that needs special Mod intervention?

Hi Medfet and welcome to the boards.

The board software has been disabled to a large extent, especially avs
A lot of features that should work dont,
But some people have luck with posting their chat profile pic as their av, but not others.
you have to click the box, and then click apply, but apart from that it seems to be a crap shoot.

I wish they would fix it, but yanno, wish in one hand, ....

Ahh, got it. I don't even have an option / checkbox for it that I can see, but I figured it must be possible somehow since I noticed others with forum avvies that are obviously personal pics. That's a bit frustrating.

Thank you very much for answering, and thanks for the welcome. :)

Are you using the profile side or the button at the top right corner of this page that says "my profile"

try both...?
I just tried to change mine again, but its not showing up yet, sighs

I'm not sure what profile side is?

I'm using the "my profile" link up in the right corner, and the options it gives me are:

- Click to choose avatars (from the list of ones already on CS's server)
- Don't display avatar
- Set up profile photo from URL (done)
- Use your avatar as Profile Photo (the opposite of what I'm trying to do)

I've tried messing around with these options, but nothing I've done so far gets my outside-URL pic into the avvie space.

Edit: I'm still not seeing an avvie for you on my end, either. ^^; Just the Condemned status image.

Heh:)

Im condemned because Ive posted way to many times on this forum:)
You have an ice-cream cone, as you post more that will change.

If you look up in the left hand corner, it has a button saying "part of collarspace.com"
That takes you to your "site" profile (the other one I mentioned is your "forum" profile)
You can do all the profile stuff, age, location, profile pic, interests kinks etc.
As I said, a lot of the features have been disabled, and it has been for a while.

Also, If you want to post pictures in the forum, you cannot upload it, you have to use the image button and include the url of a jpg, gif, or png. withing the tags.
Just a heads up,
hope it helps

Okay, I see what you mean now. x) I did upload profile images on both sides, using Photobucket for the Chat one since it asks for an existing URL, so I was trying to figure out how to get my Photobucket link to show up as the avvie too.

Looking at the main CollarSpace site profile options, I'm not seeing anything at all pertaining to the forums. Guess I'm stuck. xb Ah well, we tried.

Cheers! Thanks for walking me through that. Much appreciated.

Then wait an hour before you freak, the server goes and puts it on all your posts etc.

I've definitely been clicking it, and I assume Lucylastic has been too.

In my case, I can see my changes take effect right away. The problem is my forums options page seems to be completely missing an option that some other users have.

In Ll's case, I'm guessing it's a coding muck-up within the site. Goodness knows there are plenty of those.

I've tried messing around with these options, but nothing I've done so far gets my outside-URL pic into the avvie space.

It has been a few years since we loaded our forum avatar, then used it for our Main Profile pic. In fact, the avatar is a cropped version of our Main photo. This process has not been retested, so it may not work this way anymore.

Try keeping with the sequence indicated in your forum profile since it is already set up in this unidirectional format. APPLY and then SAVE.

1. Load your forum avatar pic from the URL you want to use (or have already used for your Main Profile pic), to replace the one that you are currently displaying.

2. Check off using your new [forum] avatar as [Main] Profile Photo.

3. Wait 24 hours for this change to take effect on the Main Profile side, keep what you updated as being your "new" Primary Photo (the one that is linked to being the same as your updated forum avatar), then delete the replaced Photo that shifted down to Photo#2 spot if it had originated from the identical URL used, to avoid duplication. It is possible that nothing will look like it changed to your Main Profile pic (if linked image URLs were identical), but you will have the forum avatar pic you wanted.

It actually took almost a week to update for me when I changed it.

Thank you very much, Honeybears! I'm not sure how or why your method worked, but it did!!!
