ITV is switching off all seven of its channels for an hour to encourage people to get off their sofas and take part in sport following Team GB's Olympics success.
ITV will stop broadcasting from 09:30 on 27 August as part of the I Am Team GB campaign.

The move, organised with the National Lottery, will also see thousands of sports clubs open to let people try new sports for free.

Olympic medallists, including long jumper Greg Rutherford, will take part.

The Bank Holiday weekend event is part of the celebrations to welcome home Team GB from the Rio Olympics.

The Coronation Street and Emmerdale sets will be hosting events, along with the Copper Box Arena in London, Glasgow National Hockey Centre and Sport Wales National Centre in Cardiff.

Rutherford, who won a bronze medal in Rio, urged people to get involved, adding: "You don't have to be an Olympian to be part of Team GB."

ITV would usually show Murder, She Wrote at the time of the blackout, with the Coronation Street omnibus on ITV2.

A statement from I Am Team GB described the day as "a homecoming for our lottery-funded Olympic athletes when they return from Rio, inspiring everyone, no matter what their level of fitness, to come together with Olympic heroes and famous faces from ITV in the biggest ever UK-wide sports day".

Someone explain this one to me

"no matter what their level of fitness" I have CFS/M.E. and rarely get of my arse or back therefore I beg to differ. How about you show some good programs and I will watch your channels fukers

"no matter what their level of fitness"

The total idiocy of the world is upon them. When referring to athletes saying that, what could be more illogical ?

Fucking liberals. Take retarded kids and let them design a new pickup truck with linear torsion bar suspension, variable valve timing and direct cylinder injection. "because the deserve a chance".

Let's take old people in wheelchairs and Depends and have them compete in pole vaulting. Let's take people who cannot add two plus two and elect them. (oh, we already do that)

Yes, we do, and it's people who cannot add one and one who are voting for them.

HA HA HA ! But Trump is the anomaly. Neither party likes him, know what that means ? Here is the logic :

The government fucks up or is incompetent in most of what they do. therefore the less they do the better. That is why we need a republican congress with a democrat President or vice versa. So they slow it down being adversarial.

So what I foresee is if Trump gets in we will have a congress that will not listen to him on legislation and he might not sign it because they put something in there he does not like. With two parties still in congress, they will probably not be vetoproof.

Like if he sees a budget with some bad riders on it and refuses to sign it, the government shuts down. All it takes is for one third of them not to approve, and that is not all that hard to fathom.

Clinton on the other hand works for Israel, and so does most of congress. Notable exceptions being Ron Paul and James Trafficant. That means more fucking with Iran, Russia and Syria, not necessarily in that order. Possibly even China over the South China Sea. She thinks the US military can kick the whole world's ass and she is dead wrong. But we will be the dead, not her, so she does not give a fuck.

I have learned one very important thing in life. Never think it cannot get worse because it will always prove you wrong.

Neither of those two are still in Congress, unless you were talking about Rand Paul. Rand, unfortunately, is A LOT more "Republican" than Ron ever was.

Traficant worked for the mafia out of Youngstown, so, yeah, he wasn't beholden to Israel. lol
