ORIGINAL: crazyml By "far less reliable" I trust you mean "10,000 times less reliable? Have you had success with this approach yourself? Maybe not 10,000 times less, but possibly 1,000 times. :P I actually felt something approaching a state of trance one time, but I'm fairly hard to hypnotize to begin with. I hate losing control so even when I want to lose it, I still resist. I also never done it to another myself, I don't know the techniques or anything, what I said above is based on how the hypnotist was working (or trying to work) with me. They however allegedly have been successful before, and it did seem like it could work. The person would have to already be in a pretty receptive state however, I think. Perhaps with a self-hypnosis session prior (I found a pretty good method for this in a book before, and taught it to a couple people who made it work... I, for reasons mentioned above, was never able to). My only successful personal experience was with voice, as the hypnotist.
