My Master has been teaching me to enjoy hoods. i have worn two different kinds. One latex that had small openings for mouth, nose and eyes, one leather that has a large opening for the upper half of my face. It is a very intense experience. Hoods force me very deep inside myself, and that is without serious sensory depravation. i'm sure more SD and deeper experiences will come as time goes on.

i like the experiences, but hoods are something that should be introduced gently over a period of time. If there had been too much too soon i may have decided that i didn't like hoods at all. i suppose that holds true with most bdsm activities.

Just had my slave serve snacks at the Atlanta Skin Two party for five hours in an eyeless hood. She loves it. I took it off so she could see a show and she wanted it back on before the show was over. I will get her to post her end of it.

Have never experienced a hood and while i definitely wouldnt rule them out, especially reading some of the comments here, i just dont like looking at them! For some reason they creep me out!! Dont ask me why! But then if i am wearing one i wont have to see myself would i?? lol

Anyway i do understand what role they play as sensory deprivation obviously enhances the senses that are not deprived! Which in most cases are touch! Which at the end of the day is why we are all here, PLEASURE!

Sensory Deprivation, utilizing a Hood (there are several varieties in My Dungeon, leather, spandex, latex) and a Canvas and Leather bodybag, Leather straps to a table, various type gags, ear plugs et al can be a VERY powerful scenario for both the submissive and the Dominant.

As others have mentioned...being in such a helpless and vulnerable position can be very thrilling or very scary, depending upon the individuals involved. (Personal history, level of trust, and even what kind of day they've had are all factors that contribute to the success or undesirable consequences that occur during sensory Dep.)

For Me as a Dominant, the more vulnerable a person is in My care, the more responsibility I have. (duh-obviously--but it needed to be said nonetheless) When someone is that helpless physically, being deprived of their senses that each human relies so heavily upon, every moment of every day--it can be very difficult for them to let you k now if they are in trouble. That goes for physically, as well as emotionally/mentally. It is something to always keep in mind when you engage in such heavy scening. (For Me personally, I make sure there is a way for a sub who is that helpless, to be able to communicate with me that they are in trouble, or need something. Typically, it is two quick grunts--a way to distinguish it from moans/groans of pleasure. Even that is not always foolproof. So I must by hyper-vigilant monitoring breathing, movement, etc.)

As a sumissive, I love hoods. Feeling the leather totally encasing the head is much more intense than simply blocking sight and muffling sound. It puts me deep into a very relaxed subspace, almost one where I feel disconnected from my body. It really does make me feel more submissive. I also find that when hooded, I can take much more pain. I can calmly take pain that otherwise would have had me screaming. It almost seperates me from my body, letting my body be an object for Mistress to play with while I float away. It's a very intense experience. It's not for everyone, but I love it.

Never wore a hood but am often blindfolded and sometimes with ears plugged. It is very intense. My only concern of a hood would be if it gets too hot in there. I run very warm, temperature-wise, and fear I would overheat in there. Has anyone experienced that?

Girlie, some of the nicer ones have little ventilation holes in them just for that purpose.

I have several hoods and gags. I have tried sensory deprivation on a few submissives over the years. I recall especially 1 who loved leather hoods and latex. We did all the usual things hooded. Eventually our play ended up with latex hood, gas mask with hose connected, collared with latex suit totally bound wrist to sides, elbows tied, knees and ankles with latex straps. I submerged him in my jacuzzi under 2' of water. While under I controlled his every breathe. In the beginning it was fun. But like all other disciplines we moved on to other things. It seems with each submissive you start at the beginning till or if it ends. This slave is a dear, dear friend now who became the property of my friend in NY and has moved on to Phillipsburg, N.J. where his playtime continues. We are all friends! Haven't experienced sensory deprivation with a new sub lately.....actually just back in the scene after a 2 year respite!

I enjoy the bishop mask/hood more than other types of hoods. I think because I have more peripheral view. I personally can take or leave the hoods. I can enjoy them once in a while.

I just do not care for the way they seem to interfere with breathing, though that could be all in my mind. As to the sensory dep, useless on me, i hit subspace so fast i really do not hear or see a whole lot of amything, hell getting me to do anything usually requires getting my attention rather carefully or pushing me the way you want me tpo move.

Well the one Master i serve is a sadist, so no need to explain his side of it. *grin i enjoy sensory deprivation. However, i have discovered recently i may not always be up for it. Nice reaction from sub in sub space!

I've done this to my boy and once he got over the intial shock of the first blow he really soared into subspace. He said he could never tell where I was and after awhile exactly what I was doing to him, all he knew was he wanted it.

Claustrophobia aside.

But now you are wearing one. If the one you are wearing is like mine, the 'eyes' can snap on or off, to better heighten the sensation. However in this case your eyes are uncovered. The gag can snap on or off as well.

You are led to your own mirror, where you see...... well, something, or someone, you cannot recognize. A face of leather, smooth. You can't see the strings in back, but you know that it has been adjusted and pulled tight, like adjusting the strings on a shoe. You feel the tightness then. Like a second skin.

All that you recognize of yourself is your own eyes. Other than that, anonymity.

Do you find yourself ugly now? What do you see? Perhaps more importantly, who do you see? Who is that in the mirror?
