Status: offline 		I want to buy a flogger, but am not sure whether to get one with leather or rubber strips,
plus who in your opinion, are the best seller/s of them online, in terms of both price and quality.

Status: offline 		Best flogger and best price are two different things. Those who make quality floggers charge for that quality. There are many sellers who make very good floggers. Each flogger is different and feels different. Thickness of leather, type of leather, width of the tails, cut of the tails all make a huge difference. Depending on the size of your hand you might want a larger or smaller circumference to the handle. Some people are comfortable with very long tails and some prefer shorter tails. To choose one you really need to actually feel it. That way you can determine if it is stingy or thuddy. Some floggers we've enjoyed just because they made such a wonderful sound. I would suggest you attend a munch or event and find some local people who make floggers. Find someone who makes floggers that will suit your purpose and needs and pocketbook.

Let's do the easy part first.

I'd be more likely to suggest places that are probably a little higher in price because I'm pretty serious about the quality factor. If you're going to buy "a" flogger, buy a good one. Any place I'd recommend would be out of the country for you, so you're already going to pay international shipping. In my mind, that means buy a good quality product, rather than get something cheaper at the expense of quality.

The rest is harder because I don't know anything about what kind of player you are and what kind of bottom you are going to be using this on. Unless you are primarily playing with somebody who can take some pretty good hits, I wouldn't suggest rubber. More often than not, a rubber flogger is going to be made with weight as a significant factor, so you're not going to get as much use out of it if the person you intend to play with isn't already into heavy play.

Everything that peppermint told you, in my opinion, is correct. You want to think about what kind of play you intend to do and who you are doing it with when choosing a flogger. For example, I'm a woman who has small hands and a shorter arm span than the average male, so heavy hides, longer handles, and 18" falls don't 'fit' me well. Most of my floggers are leather and/or suede, but they are a variety of weights, materials, type of falls, etc. Not all of them are great for every bottom because some pairs are "too much".

If I knew more, I could probably make a better recommendation.

I have about six from them, perfect balance, well balanced handles, tails that move like silk but the thud and sting is exquisite.
I liked them so much I sold them in my BDSM toy store. I have used them since the late 90s.
Your best bet maybe look in fet life for toy makers.
There are a few I know in the UK and US/canada, but Oz is not usually on my buy list... depending on wether you like turks heads, or swivel heads, or cheaper vs quality, its a personal thing.

It's not an either/or. Leather floggers are very different than rubber floggers. They feel different, they handle different, they create a different effect.

Unless you know what you like, and what the person you're playing with likes, you'll have to get both and find out which one you like.

Especially if you're buying online, and you don't have a chance to try it out before buying.

Leather gives you the option of tailoring how you want your flogger to "feel". The feel is described by the flogger's "sting" and "thud" and how much of each it delivers. For example, will it contact with a very sharp or moderate or non-existent sting? Will the submissive or bottom feel the strike deeply even if it has no sting at all because of the floggers "thud" characteristic? Or does it inflict both because that is your preference? Your preference is what it is all about and leather gives you the ability to finely tailor your flogger in how it looks, very important also, and how it feels to you as the welder and the bottom as the target of your no doubt worthy attentions. You can find one listed with the sting and thud attributes and you can order one custom using this terminology.
Rubber, not so much. I like it in my car tires though.

The best sellers are all online unless you find a local one that does one of custom work, a small operation. I have bought several from various places but recommend https://www.wian-studios.com/.

If you want real pain, get rubber. If you want the sensation of some pain but not the severity, get leather.
