Is there a public dress code or way of behaving that would alert a potential Domme that you are sub? i thought that a badge or pin, or something may have been devised by now to identify those in the BDSM lifestyle. Are there any thoughts on this?

There's always the hanky code- been around a few decades.

There's also the "I'm a slave" tshirt. And a lot of people wear triskellions or locked chain collars.
