That context - yes I am having the same issues. Its been like this a few weeks now...months? The owner of the site - I've never seen him contribute OP so in essence none of us really know. He keeps it running so there is that.

I am here because some I know are here ... No one seems to care much about anything on the site anymore, and the speed and reliability are big issues that just drive people away, leaving a very depleted active membership, if you pencil out the money-grabber, fakes, and scams. The site does have some nice features that Fetlife doesn't, but if they don't work, or work at a snails pace, what good are they in the long run. I hope the owner keeps it up, but it would be nice if some of the problems were addressed

Well... it's here... it's up and running. Most of it works fine. And it's FREE!! What more do you want?? And am I the only one that is not suffering most of the issues that people are complaining about?? Sure, some issues need fixing. That costs money. Everything I want and use is working. Better than 99% of the time I have no lag at all - it's better than Yahoo. So in that sense, I blame external influences (ISP, routing, wireless, non-computer devices etc), not the site itself. It's not costing me one red cent. What is wrong with this website?? Too many ungrateful people complaining about something they are using for free.

What's funny is that M and I were discussing making an offer for the site. But, it's difficult to calculate the value of a site where the site itself is junk. The only value is in the number of accounts (a large chunk of which are fake) and the current advertising revenue. The reporting websites vary widely on impressions, income and value. One as high as $2 million, one as low as $50K. It's like buying a run down house with a good address...without a home inspection and no other houses to compare it to.

This site is nothing compared to what it was when I first joined, and it was nothing then to what it had been. Now it is slow, it times out all the time, it lags, and it has gone through a number of different mod teams that all set up their own issues. However, I still don't agree with what happened that allowed little miss ego trip from the other side to take over and run riot every where. This thing that just because something is free you have no right to say when something is wrong is bullshit. Of course you have the ability to just stop using the site, however, this particular owner is supposed to make money from advertising revenue, that's us lot Sherlock. That kinda means a free site needs to run correctly to keep its members clicking the bait to make its money. The fake crap really doesn't cut that mustard. I don't know this owner, however, from all the chatter it appears to me he's very much cut off his nose to spite his face. If he's ill, and he's going to let this site continue to fail rather than pass it on, that's a dick move. Needles

I am having to use the "Posts since last visit" feature to see what has been posted because clicking on a sub-forum is usually destined to fail. It sort of brings home that the vast majority of the topics and posts here are all about politics, and they are usually flame wars. I wonder if this forum would be viable at all if that section was removed.

Probably not. i am a political junkie, yet even i find the politics section here to be mostly a waste of time. it is mostly the same 20 people screaming the same dumb ass insults at each other over and over.

Unbelievable! Tell me when Collarme died where did you go? Personally I just went and did other things and figured the friends I had made there were history but then when I found Collarspace I was able to reconnect with old friends. As for the forums, I also got flamed pretty bad in the Collarme forums from time to time, so what else is new? And instead of saying hurray the site owner is sick and it serves him right. Maybe you could ask if he could use some help to improve the site or we could lose it all together. As for the "money-grabbers, fakes, and scams", they are pretty easy to spot. Being as their profiles tend to be new, short and badly worded and have no Journal Entries. Yet I find them fun and interesting just looking at what they are trying to chum the waters with.
