(understand sarcasm mode is at full)

Alright, some years ago, I agreed to go into partnership on the purchase of a house my little sister 'just loved' but at the time, her credit score would not allow her to get the mortgage.

Now this worked out great since the property I owned was not (closer now) ready to be lived on.

Well, this morning she announced the following.

I need to complete all present projects before beginning a new one.

She pointed to my work bench which has 4 heath kit vacuum tube transceivers in various stages of reconditioning, a homebrew (radio built from scratch using either schematics downloaded off the web or something designed by the operator) and the fact that the back deck has all the parts for a full wave, multi band directional antenna.

This came about after I said I was thinking of taking a consulting job I was offered to pay for a new telescope kit.

(the telescopes are another bone of contention, as there are two in the living room, one in the den, and one permanently mounted on a platform on the roof with a motor to allow me to change orientation in both the horizontal and vertical axis and connected to a wireless camera linked to my computer.)

Now personally, I think she is being unreasonable since (with the exception of the telescopes) my work bench is in my radio shack (once a fourth bedroom/study) and therefore out of sight.

And, after some thought, have come to the conclusion that she has coerced my daughter in law and both nieces to her side.

I also think this is but one more example of the inability of the female mind to understand reason.

Build an outbuilding. Then you can spread out your projects.
Personally I'm partial to pole barns, but you could just do a chicken coop type building, long.

Why should i move my projects to a drafty old shed?

I am simply saying that women seem unreasonable when it comes to men's hobbies.

I do not say a word when she has her sewing stuff spread over the dining room table, or when she stores my niece's stuff in my radio room.

I certainly did not say a damn thing when her and my niece's took over the kitchen to bake cookies and pies for the holidays, which due to the fact that I am keeping a strict diet to keep my doc off my ass, I limit myself on sweets.

They made 18 batches of cookies and 8 freaking pies, only one of which I actually like.

Nope, clearly women have a double standard.

Besides, I already do any rebuilding of carbs and my ammo reloads in a shed, no room for radio gear in there.

Dude...you were unclear...sounds like you did aid the purchase some years back.

Purchase is done....walk away...you're the bigger man.

#End#.

Ya know what? They're chics...make it work....be the bigger man.

Do it.

(It's only money bud....in the end...it's all good).

Start cleaning your guns at the kitchen table and leave the used patches in the trash each time they do something contentious. Or .... Accept the fact you're in a house with women and blood family to boot. Personally, I like the idea of an out building. My attached garage has a work bench where I tinker with weapons and small projects. My detached boat garage has a larger area for bigger projects/ woodworking/ table tools and it's heated (after a thirty minute warm up) and I use fans in the summer. Retain your sanity build man, build. Besides, playing with nail guns is just plain fun!
