LazarM -> Disappearing profiles (2/15/2017 10:57:44 AM)

I started a nice discussion with user ashlynh95 and after a few messages her profile just disappeared. I doubt she deleted it, so what happened with it? Does it often happens that some profiles just disappear? Also, has anyone else talked with this user?

It happens.
But usually by the user themselves, not normally via a site glitch; although a Mod can hide/remove a profile if it violates ToS and was reported.

Thank you on the answer. No, I doubt she removed the profile. She just became a member and we started talking and she seemed enthusiastic. Also, on 3. February, when she disappeared, she just read my message and after that I found that her profile had vanished. I doubt she deleted it herself.

You'd be surprised at how often people delete their own profiles.

Quite often, people live in a fantasy land and if they feel people are getting too close and might just be for real - POOOF!!
Their profile is deleted for fear of being asked to do something for real.

I have had that happen many times over the years.
It is more common than people think.

She didn't delete her profile, nor did the site management delete it. She put it on "hide" so that she can continue to peruse the site and profiles but others can't see her. Many women do that after being on here a short time given the content of the messages we get.

Edit to add: when we put our profiles on hide, it comes up as nonexistent when our user name is searched for.

You can reply to a hidden profile because it still exists.

But you can't if you see the message at the top that says that you cannot reply to the profile because it no longer exists.

If this is what the OP is seeing - the profile has been removed/blocked and not just hidden.

LazarM -> RE: Disappearing profiles (2/15/2017 12:09:08 PM)

Yes, that's also a possibility. The thing is that we had good communication and I don't see a reason for such a move. Vast majority of people on CS don't hide their profiles, so it simply looks strange to me.

Yes, that's precisely what I see. So, I suppose she had been deleted by someone.

face the truth, the mods dont get their kicks out of hiding profiles or deleting them unless they have crossed the TOS line..
she blanked you....

Unless her profile breached the site ToS AND was reported by a number of different people, nobody has the power/authority (except a Moderator) to remove or block her profile.

The chances are, much to your chagrin, she has deleted it herself.

Apparently, they changed things:

I would assume that although you enjoyed the exchanges, she felt differently.
She hid or deleted her profile for a reason. Think about it.

You had a discussion with someone. Was it through email or through the IM available here? If you did not voice chat you can't even be sure the person you chatted with is male or female. Those types of people make and delete profiles all the time. It's a game to them. You might take it seriously, but for them it's just internet fun and games.

Then there are those who think they might be interested in BDSM. They make a profile. They read a little. They chat a little. Then they delete their profile. There are different reasons why they delete the profile. Some find out they are just too scared to follow through with their dreams. Others, both male and female are married and are afraid their spouse will discover their secret.

People come and people go. Don't take it personally. It's the internet. As I have said over and over, more than 90 percent of the people you meet online are not who or what they say they are. It's your job to weed those out. The person you were just talking with made it easy for you. They deleted the profile and moved on to a new profile listing a new age and a new city, maybe even a new gender. Welcome to the joys of online chatting.
