The sheer desperation with which our RWNJs cling to their inflated and false crime figures from Sweden illustrates perfectly the mentality that cries out for fake news, alternative facts and supplanting the truth with ideology.
Our RWNJs, on a mission to paint Islam as the religion from Hell, loudly proclaim the 'facts' from dodgy sources such UK tabloids, notoriously biased sources such as townhall or Fox or just sources where any attempt at publishing the truth was abandoned years ago (such as Breitbart or Infowars). Sources that are reliable, respectable, with an international reputation such as the BBC or quality news media are almost never used. Posters who used to disparage Sweden as as socialist hellhole a month or two ago now paint it as heaven on earth destroyed by recent influxes of unspeakable hordes of Muslims, a virtual Paradise Lost invaded by infidels and barbarians.
Despite their lurid claims being comprehensively and repeatedly trashed when subjected to rigourous analysis by experts or neutral parties, they refuse to recognise the truth even though it is staring them in the face. These are minds who have long since ceased to process reality and have indulged themselves, gorged themselves on a diet of fictitious 'fake news' and 'alternative facts' spoon fed to them by their preferred media until they are totally incapable of distinguishing between reality and propaganda. Even their leaders show ample evidence of suffering from these flaws - look at Dear Leader Thump's lies, and his outrage when sensible people refuse to take his lies and false claims seriously. It's as though these people actually believe that their imaginary version of 'reality' is the correct one and that the real world can be ignored as it doesn't exist - for them, the real world is a fiction of the liberal media.
For our RWNJs, the Bowling Green Massacres and the Swedish meatball masacree are as real as it gets. Just like the suburban paedophile ring Hilary was supposed to be running out of some pizza parlour .... or the US military's attempted imposition of martial law on Texas last year .... or the FEMA concentration camps .... or <list your favourite RW fantasy of doom here> .... all as real as it gets for out RWNJs, God help the poor little darlings.
Such behaviour would be frowned upon in children and teenagers, whom one hopes would be taught the error of their ways before it became a serious problem. However adults who refuse point blank to recognise reality even as it stares them in the face are a genuinely concerning problem for themselves, and a potential danger to all around them. This is a clinical psychological disorder. Neurotic is one of the milder terms that accurately describes this obstinate, wilful and childlike refusal to come to terms with the real world.
