It seems the plan is to ramp up internet censorship, and allow more networks to be bought out by a smaller group of people-- most likely the crony capitalists that agreed to give Trump favorable coverage.

http://www.ibtimes.com/political-capital/who-controls-media-cbs-sinclair-ceos-predict-consolidation-if-donald-trump-goes

Jared Kushner has already openly stated that Sinclair media has agreed to favorable coverage in exchange for greater access:

http://www.politico.com/story/2016/12/trump-campaign-sinclair-broadcasting-jared-kushner-232764

Here come the state-subsidized pro-Trump media monopolies... penalize your enemies, subsidize your friends.

At this point, it's pretty obvious that your default response will be empty, uninformed sarcasm... so you really don't need to bother posting it anymore.

maybe they are the ones reporting on it.

No cite?

Railing against news organizations for putting out fake news (whether he is correct or not), isn't an attempt to shut down news organizations.

No cite needed. Only felchgobblers are unaware of Il Douches attacks on the first amendment, by barring REAL NEWS networks from press briefings.

...Outlets seeking to gain entry whose requests were denied included the Guardian, the New York Times, Politico, CNN, BuzzFeed, the BBC, the Daily Mail and others. Conservative publications such as Breitbart News, the One America News Network and the Washington Times were allowed into the meeting, as well as TV networks CBS, NBC, Fox and ABC. The Associated Press and Time were invited but boycotted the briefing....

The BBC has sought clarification from the White House on why its representative was denied access. Its Americas bureaux editor, Paul Danahar, added: “Our reporting will remain fair and impartial regardless.”

Stephanie Grisham, a spokeswoman for the White House, said: “Claims that outlets were excluded are not factual.”

In a statement, she added: “The pool was there, so various media mediums were represented.” The pool is a system by which a small group of reporters take turns covering the president and share their reports of his activities with a larger group.

Contrary to Grisham’s statement, outlets who made requests to attend were told this would not be permitted.

When the Guardian asked to participate, pointing to its possession of a “hard pass” that grants daily entry to the White House, an official declined.

“No, unfortunately a hard pass does not necessarily guarantee entry into the gaggle,” Catherine Hicks, a junior White House press aide, emailed in response.

“The gaggle today is just today’s pool with the addition of a few others here at the White House.”

oh and mnottertroll, what's described above is not in the ballpark of "congress passing a law prohibiting the free speech of the press."

In order to find and prosecute leakers, just like Obama prosecuted leakers. Again, the story here is that according to your own sources that you posted, the FBI approached White House officials and said that the New York Times was putting out fake news regarding alleged ties between Trump people and Russia:

quote:

FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe asked to speak to Priebus on Feb. 15 and told him the report in the New York Times about Russia contacts was inaccurate.

That is not qute what the sources reported.

A senior administration official told reporters Friday morning that FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe asked to speak to Priebus on Feb. 15 and told him the report in the New York Times about Russia contacts was inaccurate.

Is what was reported.

Priebus said that McCabe asked to speak to Priebus.

Wasn't the complete quote:

More leftist, Chicken Little, bullshit.

Wake me up when President Trump's D.o.J. spies on a reporter and his family or, when he actually bans "the media" from something.

If his idea is: "You lied about me so you get no cookies and milk, just vegetables". Well, that's just tough shit for the people who are out to assassinate his character (and seemingly nothing more or less).

Just like most leftist, Pablum©-pukers, the best way to handle the press is to keep them supplied with coloring books and and binkies for the next four-eight years and they'll be fine.

Yeah, it is pretty arrogant of the BBC (That's {B}ritish {B}ullshit {C}ommunicators for those of you in Poughkeepsie) to think that they, as an entity, are entitled to any constitutional protections in our country.

It's the same (childish) mentality and lack of critical thinking that makes people believe that someone who has broken our laws to get into our country has some kind of constitutional right to stay.

If you read carefully, you'd notice that my "childish" was aimed at the BBC, but you're never one to miss an opportunity to sink to the lowest level, are you?

5 news outlets were banned from Friday's Press Secretary's gaggle. That's it. That's not really banning someone from the White House.

When Obama warred against FOX News, banned it, called it fake news, well, that was different. 'Cause, HE had a D by his name
