I applaud his initial efforts but has the injustice ceased? In my opinion he could have raised the flag of oppression with less emphasis on sensationalism. Professional athletes benefit society by their efforts off the field all the time. As for his "lifetime dedication" his words were and this a quote;
“I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses Black people and people of color. To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder.”
If you're going to put it to the world you're that incensed, that offended and that passionate about the injustices this country allows to happen against people of color ... Then yes I expect a little more than a one season grab at the spotlight. Is there still a Canadian league, maybe he can stand for their anthem because when he stands for ours this year I'm going to see some hypocrisy.

I absolutely do not find the shooting of unarmed, law-abiding, non threatening citizens of any race, creed or social standing in any country especially ours acceptable. The officers who for whatever reason willingly disregard the rights of those citizens should be prosecuted like anyone else. Don't kid yourself though, law abiding is the active term here.
Now, kudos to Colin, his white mother and adoptive white family for transcending the impoverished background his father of color left him in. They raised a dedicated young man who literally "ran with the ball" by receiving a decent education, excelling in his college/ professional football career and showing the world he has conviction. Overall he's proved a good example to many. The stalwart stance he opined last season seems decidedly less sincere now though.

I appreciate the suggestion but my head is on facing the right direction. Like Colin's adoptive parents, I helped to raise and continue to be an active, supporting, loving father to two very successful, intelligent, educated and beautiful bi racial children with many of the same convictions. One whom I am as proud of as the other, is pursuing a career in law to help set those injustices right. I'm no punk, I'm a father and I take as much pride in that title as any responsible father out there.
As for where I've posted, hey it pissed you off, I'm satisfied. Tell your friends it's here their opinions are welcome.
Btw, "Off the Grid" did you not get the reference to the "Gridiron?" I guess not, you fumbled that segue.
It's in the right place. For it to be in P&R it would have to be political or religious in nature. I wouldn't consider anything related to this issue political or religious. It about social injustice at it's core and one man's waning public dedication to a very strong stance on the issue. You should really read those descriptions.
