This website is actually the worse life style website on the internet. It is outwardly a good looking website but in truth it is neglected for whatever reasons. The Advertisers have deserted you because you are more often offline than online. You do not invest sufficient money in staff or website maintenance. What is the point then in maintaining the websites existence. I am one of many thousands who think like this and so am not alone. I suggest that you improve the websites availability by updating its programming and systems analysis. I realize that What I write will fall upon deaf ears but air my views nonetheless. I am also sure that you come into the website and check things out from time to time. There are the usual bunch of message board entusiasts that enjoy bullying and harassing others from the behind computer screens. Those that have their own clique of fellow members and resent any outsider expressing views they do not hold. Mr BAKU on fetlife recently took measures to clense his website of negative aspects and changed some policies. That website has never been down in its history unlike collarspace and its predecessor collarme. Bad business people should not be in business and incompetent owners should sell the website to a competent professional who can improve upon it and perhaps, make some money whilst keeping a loyal membership and clients. Stagnation and degeneration are not the answer so sell up and get out.

Keep in mind the Collarspace profile website and this Collarchat site are both free to use. The moderators of these sites do not get paid for their participation - they are volunteers. It's the Collarspace profile site that is often unavailable, but why should the owner put time and effort into something that he provides free to the users? If I recall correctly, the owner is ill and his focus is definitely not on providing upgrades to make either site run more smoothly. Fetlife has paid subscriptions so is not a good comparison to use when discussing Collarspace. Buyer beware! You get what you pay for.

People have been complaining about the same things for as many years as I've used Collarspace, obviously the owner doesn't care. That leaves two options, stay and tolerate what ticks you off or use a site that better suits your needs.

That said it is difficult on most days to access any one part of the website or another. Checking by utilizing one of several website checkers usually confirms it is down more frequently that up.

It was under the title collarme a far better website and only went down when they were changing something or putting up a advertisment. If the owner is ill and has no interest then he must sell the website and let others improve it.

What is needed though are dedicated owners who have some interest in making it profitable and a welcoming and very efficient website for life style people and those curious about life style activities. The thread was started to try to make the owner and staff aware of peoples opinions be they pro or anti concerning the neglect of the website.

Fetlife is a piece of shit that runs on Ruby on Rails and it crashes all the time. Also, it's recent changes and new picture policy didn't improve anything... not that there is any content of value there in the first place. It is the kink facebook, not a dating site with searchable membership or an open forum for discussion. It has closed forums, run by thread starters and requires joining a group to comment... and being in the clique or not posting contrary opinions to prevent your relies from getting deleted. Worst forum environment possible. Next, CollarSpace & CollarChat look like shit. They are not "outwardly good looking websites". However, their content makes them the best BDSM oriented sites on the net, even if they run on outdated PDG software and have antique java buttons and nav. And yes, "what you wrote will fall upon deaf ears" because of the situation with the owner of this website and it's lack of income because it is free. One owner, one volunteer last I looked and it wasn't being attended daily. I don't know the newest volunteer staff, so I have no idea what their maintenance schedule is nowadays.
