That being the case, shit is about to hit the fan because due to intelligence info gained in the Yemen raid, the president is taking their in-flight bombs away from them

The White House has said a raid in Yemen on an al-Qaeda stronghold that is thought to have killed civilians was a "very thought-out process".

As many as 23 civilians were killed in the raid on a village in Yakla district on Saturday, including 10 children, rights group Reprieve says.

Yemeni reports say the victims included the daughter of Anwar al-Awlaki, a militant killed by a US strike in 2011.

The raid was the first such operation authorised by President Donald Trump.
The US military had previously said a Navy Seal, William "Ryan" Owens, 36, died and three others were injured. But the US Central Command (Centcom) later said that those killed could include children.

Several Apache helicopters were reported to have taken part in the operation, which killed 14 militants, including three al-Qaeda leaders, according to the US military.

The measures took effect Tuesday morning and cover about 50 incoming flights a day from the eight countries — Jordan, Egypt, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Morocco, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.

All are traditional U.S. allies and none is among the six majority-Muslim nations on President Trump's controversial executive order that seeks to temporarily suspend immigration.

Trump already nixed this shit about refugees with a simple move. That no activist wool snuffling judge can do a thing about. Out of their jurisdiction. He told the US embassies in those countries to quit filling out paperwork for visas to come here.

Well, I am still trying to figure out where the op got his thread title, however, as for the ban of the electronics, I have but one very small and pointed question.

The ban is based on size and the fact that explosives could be placed in the apparent device that could bring down the aircraft, so, would that not still be true if the device was placed in baggage in the luggage compartment?

The aircraft is pressurized to 10000 feet, and that happens at engine start.

Now a small pressure sensitive sensor could read that, start a timer for say 90 minutes then boom.

Okay, if their is a ground delay nothing bad happens, there is a fire, the passengers are evacuated and all hell breaks loose.

No delay, plane in air, bomb goes off in luggage compartment and plane finds ground.

So, I fail to see how having them in the baggage compartment eliminates the threat.

Plus if the guts of the device was replaced with explosives, it is easy to figure that out, try and turn the damn thing on. Not like it is actually going to function.

Somehow, since it is the UK and the US doing this, I do believe there is more to the story than we are being told.

Excuse me, but did not Trump claim that Obama founded ISIS?

And, Mr. Rodgers, while part of your logic is applicable, it is not the whole story.

The Imams running these organizations are claiming that the US and all western governments are hell bent on killing all Muslims, and every time any president authorizes a drone or air strike on a possible target and there are civilian casualties, these men basically play the "I told you so" card and gain more recruits.

Now, one military force has repeatedly, albeit they dont always practice what the preach, has stated that this technique is flawed and surgical tactical strike teams (read assassination or sniper teams) would be more effective and have less chance of civilian casualties.

Of course this is the same military that blows the hell out of neighborhoods to hit one kaytusha rocket launcher killing 20 plus civilians at a shot.

But then, this government's intelligence service has (allegedly) a large number of deep operatives in many of these organizations, and not very good at sharing intel that would make such operations possible.

Of course, we had a similar problem in the southwest in the last half of the 19th century.

Apaches would raid, the US Army would punish those Apaches on the reservation which lead to young Apache braves jumping the reservation to join men like Geronimo, Coshise, Mangas and others.

Hmm, seems that history is repeating itself.....
