Not surprising. You kill their Uncles, Grandma, kids, it is easy for them to get radicalised. They see a devil when someone kills off their family, what religious person would not see it that way.
The rick here is to leave them alone, and where they are. Take in nobody. Let them sort out their problems.
The US caused most of this. Iran would not even be a theocracy. But ion 1952/3 their then elected and fairly progressive President didn't let the oil companies walk all over him, so the US gave them the Shah. That led to a revolt after 26 years of abuse by that butcher and that resulted in the Iatolla. Seen as a leader, and radical, they followed him.
Now there's the same type of shit happening in Syria. The US doesn't like their lawfully elected President so is sponsoring an insurrection. This is what is creating the refugees.
Advocating genocide is probably against TOS, so I am not really doing that, but I will say that it may be the only solution now. They are teaching their kids to hate, and why not ? The US IS the devil as far as they know. Did they come here and start killing us for out natural resources ? Have they sponsored a revolution here ? They had no plans to do anything of the sort before, but things have changed. When Uncle Achmed became collateral damage, you just radicalised the whole family and they are now likely to join IS.
The only other possible solution is to get out. Get out of Afghanistan, poppies grow in other places. Get out of Syria, what did Assad ever do in the first place ? They claim he is some sort of criminal but you know, this "Welcomed as liberators" shit is not working so well there either now is it ?
Just buy their oil. Keep your ships away from their countries and quit with the drone strikes.
Unfortunately that does not look like what Trump is going to do. He is now looking for that "final solution", which I know is a Hitlerish reference, but he wants to solve the problem. The problem is he, like most people, does not fully understand the problem. The main thing people do not realize is that we went to them and fucked with them first. They can self justify anything they do as revenge now.
All for oil. All because we didn't want to drill it here. All because we didn't want pipelines here. But we fought to put them in other countries, and some of them didn't like the idea. All because our oil companies wanted to make more money. I know it is called British Petroleum but that company started as Standard Oil, in the US. They impelled a few actions in South America which pissed the people off and they never forget either. That is why we got HFCS in soda pop instead of real sugar.
Ecuador offered human rights classes to the US government. They forced the Ecuadorian President's plane down to search it for Assange. That is an act of fucking war. And that happened under the Obama administration BTW. You can't lay that on the republicans.
Both sides of the aisle will intervene in the affairs of another country when there is money to be made. Assange was an irritant, and luckily he remains so. Because our ally Ecuador is keeping him safe.
So, what do you want to do ? The genocide or make friendly neighbors out of these people ? Your call, not mine. I really thought Trump would try to stay out of foreign affairs to some extent, like be a non-interventionalist. I am not seeing that. But then, I think we have not had a really good President in my lifetime. (which began in 1960) Maybe JFK, moonshinin drug dealin all that, but that doesn't bother me. But then what he did got him killed so we don't know what would have happened.
