MotleyMoxie -> catheter removal (not BDSM related) (3/23/2017 6:43:59 AM)

OMG HELP. I had surgery tuesday to remove a stent and kidney stone. 8 months of stuck stone, sepsis, stent, stent pain. And they sent me home with a foley catheter. (a cath in my ureter and one in my bladder with a foley) I go in to the office in 2 hours to have it removed. Awake and alert. And I am absolutely terrified. I am so afraid it's going to hurt. I know a lot of folk on here practice medical play and we have a lot of people with a lot of experience and knowledge.

someone please tell me it's going to be ok. I can't stop shaking and I've gotten light headed from the anxiety twice now. I have never missed having a dom so much in my life as I do today.

It should slide out easily. They grease these things pretty thoroughly before insertion. They are very careful to make sure all of the water is removed from the balloon,so there will feel no more dilation than you already are experiencing. You may experience a slight soreness for a while afterwards-but this usually passes in less than a day at most.

If they're taking out your catheter and your stent, they'll have to do a cystoscopy after removing the catheter - unless the stent has a string on it. You'll know this because there'll be a thread hanging out your urethra (pee hole).
If you have a string, they'll just slide it out - it won't be comfortable, but they're really soft and should come out really easily, and quickly. It'll all be over in a second.

If they have to do cystoscopy, they'll use some lidocaine jelly before hand to numb up your urethra, slide a thin scope in and use graspers which slide through the scope to pull the stent out.

This all isn't wildly comfortable or fun, but it won't hurt nearly as badly as kidney stones. A couple of deep breaths and you'll be done. And you can get on with your life without the pain and having to pee every 20 minutes. You'll do fine! :)
