If they're taking out your catheter and your stent, they'll have to do a cystoscopy after removing the catheter - unless the stent has a string on it. You'll know this because there'll be a thread hanging out your urethra (pee hole). If you have a string, they'll just slide it out - it won't be comfortable, but they're really soft and should come out really easily, and quickly. It'll all be over in a second. If they have to do cystoscopy, they'll use some lidocaine jelly before hand to numb up your urethra, slide a thin scope in and use graspers which slide through the scope to pull the stent out. This all isn't wildly comfortable or fun, but it won't hurt nearly as badly as kidney stones. A couple of deep breaths and you'll be done. And you can get on with your life without the pain and having to pee every 20 minutes. You'll do fine! :)
